Ok..in my personal opinion........the xB is probably one of the most difficult to classify vehicles on the road today..........which is probably what makes it so appealing. However......if we were to classify it.........what would we classify it as? It's obviously not an SUV or station wagon........definitely not a sedan or sport coupe. I really don't know what I'd consider it. However........I'd say the classification that made the most sense to me I saw on the Discount Tire website. They refer to the xB as a "micro van"............which.......I know non of us probably want to think of our vehicles as a "van"............but it seems somewhat appropriate. What's your opinion? What IS the xB (aside from "motor vehicle")........or can it even be classified?

As they roll it out nationwide, it'll probably be classified as a. . .bandwagon.

definetly a tall wagon... but thats a good thing go check out Style Wagon magazine if you wanna see what a wagon should look like! If you dont have a local lil tokyo or asian magazine rack shop, you could get at http://www.news-pub.com/publication/order/fax/stylerv.html

If I am not mistaken, discount tire company is BASED out of las vegas....When I was at one of the local DT stores, I was talking to whom I was told was the owner....he asked me what I classified my car as....I told him I callled it a micro van...

Maybe that is how the DT website came to refer to them as that..

I usually refer to it as a micro van...or could it possibly be a sport wagon??

Maybe not enough horsepower to consider it "sport".

But I am working on the HP part. Might end up as a sport micro van.

It's classified by the Alaska DMV as a Turd

In that case, I'd classify the Alaska DMV as a Turd. :nope:

My new title from Maryland says it is a truck. Silly? Probably higher fees than a car.

I have heard it called an oversized hatch back. My insurance company calls it a sedan. I have also heard lunch wagon and bread truck. :eyebrow:

If I am not mistaken, discount tire company is BASED out of las vegas....

Discount Tire has two headquarters. Two men started it back in Indiana but split when they had opposing business goals. They amicably kept the same company name. One stayed in Indiana and didn't grow very big. The other moved to Phoenix and grew it into a mega-company across many states. The one you speak of is in Phoenix, Az.

Back to the topic, Consumer Reports classifies the xB as a station wagon. They also rate it as #1 in its class.
