Default TRD lowering springs + labor = how much?

Im just wondering how much i would be paying on top of the springs to get them installed? and if i would need an alignmnet and such.

What is the average labor for this job?

springs - 150-200 depending on where you get them.
labor - free (do it yourself along with a couple of buddies) 0r 200-900 depending on which dealer you choos to have butt rape you. Or 100-150 depending on the shop.

i've heard that you don't really need an alignment with TRDs because they're not that low, but it is recommended with any drop.

Kearny Mesa in San Diego does it for $200 for those in this area. Don't go to San Diego Scion - They want 750 for it. And that LABOR ONLY, no parts.

Yep, bought and had mine installed there for a total of $399. They don't do an alignment afterward either, and stated that they've found it isn't necessary. After 9 months and over 4k miles, I'd have to agree with them. I feel the price was also fair, for those that don't want to do it themselves, and/or don't want to buy a $25 spring compressor. I've changed springs on other cars, and if I was doing the service for someone else, I certainly wouldn't charge any less than they charged me.

Wow! I paid $125 for install and it was done in 70 mins! Thanks Stylis!

TRD Springs; at trdsparks.com, $155+ tax/shipping
Installation charges; $100-$200 TOTAL! Do not pay more than $200.

Depending on your location; you could find somebody here on this site that installs them (like I did!) or find a local shop that can do it for you. I got mine installed back in Jan. and have had no issues. I didn't get an alignment yet either.

the thing is i am from Upstate, like 20 min from the US/CA border. The closest civilization is about 2 hours so its a decent run to get them installed. I'm prolly going to break down and replace them myself i tend to get cheap when it comes to paying for labor ^^.

it's not even about being cheap, you'll learn something about your car and modding your car yourself is much better than paying someone else to mod it for you

Since you are paying for your car, wouldn't it give you that extra piece of mind to know that all the mods that went in to it were installed by YOU? The most you will ever pay is for the parts, some beer for friends, spare time on the weekends, and a few rentals at the local auto parts store.

When lowering my tC I spent just shy of $200.
Which includes:
-the springs (in my case tien s-techs)
-spring compressors from autoZone
-a 12 pack of coca-cola
-extended torque wrench and a few extra sockets.

Buddy up with a few local Scion-Heads and I am sure they will lend you an extra set of hands.

you don't need that many tools, just some sockets should do you well. you can borrow a spring compressor from the local autozone for free with a deposit.

Yeah, when I install my springs, I'm going to borrow a compressor from Midas. Just DIY. I'm going to, with the help of all the DIYs and write-ups, you should be fine.
