Sub stops hitting when stopping...
has anyone noticed...when you slow down or stop...with your sub on, or even just the stock CD player...it gets quite?...ill be going down the street, barly able to see b/c of the sub...then i stop for a light and i can barly hear the sub...is it my sub or do someone else have the proble?
If you're running a stock head unit check your ASL level. Hit the sound button until is says ASL. You will have a choice of 3 settings... ASL-High, ASL-Mid, ASL-Low. Im betting its on High right now. ASL stands for Automatic Sound Leveling. When the car goes faster the volume gets louder. When the car slows down the volume turns down. Your salesperson should have gone over that function with you... Try it and report back.
Not all dealers are on top of these kinda things. I tune all my customer's stereos to the best sound you can get out of them before delivering the vehicle. It's just a courtesy thing I like to do. I also go over every feature of the head unit because in a new car its actually the most confusing feature in the vehicle and the one most people seam to care the most about for some reason...
...When a customer leaves after buying a car from me the stereo is at optimal setting, all of their favorite stations are presets, and the steering wheel audio controls work(some dealers forget to plug in all the wiring harnesses to the head unit).

Its really sad that car dealers dont know more about their cars. I can understand used cars but new cars?? Its not like there are that many different models at one dealership to learn. Especially considering they are all similar when from the same manufacturer. All they do is sit around waiting to sell cars, think they could learn something about the damn cars. But sadly someone who is good at sales and someone who is informative are almost always different people.
Im not very good at selling cars. In fact I sell a quarter of the number of cars the next lowest salesperson does here. They all laugh at me and say Im bad at what I do... Screw them I just love Scions.
ok thanks alot...ill try it today after work...yea after i had my car for a day i had to take it back b/c they forgot to set my controls on the wheel....they were close to closing when i bought my car...so they gave me the keys, a scion hat, and a good bye after they pointed me to my car.

I have a tC and is there anything I should make sure about my radio (stock) to have it running at it's full potential? I checked and it's set to "car type tC," ASL is on HIGH b/c I don't mind the drowning of sound as I'm slowing down. Anything else I should check out?

The best sound setting from a purely sound quality standpoint is XB in all three cars. In a tC I usually set treble(2 or 3), bass(3 or 4), fade(R2 or R3), and leave the balance on 0. Thats what I've found to be the best in the tC. The ASL can be set to whatever you want it to be. Just my opinion on the matter...
