I WANTED TO SUBSRIBE TO XM BUT WHEN I TRIED THE OTHER DAY, I COULDNT GET THE RADIO ID. SO I TRIED PUSHING THE AM/SAT BUTTON BUT COULDNT GET IT. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A STOCK RADIO. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET XM?? GO TO THE DEALERSHIP? OR IS THIS SOMETHING I CAN DO BY PULLING OUT THE RADIO AND HOOKING IT UP SOMEHOW?

If you didn't actually order one with your car, you need an XM unit ( base unit, wiring, and antenna ). If you already have that then your dealer should have set that up for you when you bought the car. :ponder:

Bummer is that you cannot ( or at least I couldn't find or acquire ) get the XM unit sold at Best Buy ( etc. ) for $100 and hook it to the stock head unit. The harness appears to be designed so that you can only use the XM unit provided by Scion ( and that's $250 ).

So my recommendation is this...I went to Best Buy and ended up getting a better head unit and XM unit for a total of $250. I stuck with Pioneer and am extremely happy with my choice. :D

I went with the new Sirius Sportster 4 setup. I paid $150 (then got $60 in rebates) and put it in my car. I has a built in FM modulator so I could listen as soon as I got it activated. I ordered the stereo input thouth so I could plug my Sirius directly into the stock headunit. That costed me $70 with shipping. Now, I get crystal clear satellite radio.

I got an xm the other day and am having it connected with an FM modulator this weekend. Where can I get the stereo input for crystal clear sounds.

Take a look at this thread. http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=67318

It gives the name of the adapter and shows how to install it. You can PM me if you need any more help.
