The car will look a little lower and ride a little stiffer. Not bad at all imo and it is what I roll in my bsp tc.

My MOM loved my tC when I had it lowered on TRD. She said it felt stable, very responsive on turns and quite comfortable for being lowered. This coming from the person that HATED driving my Accord because it was lowered and felt like it was going to fall apart on every pothole. IMO, every tC should come lowered with TRD springs. It should be stock and then let people decied if they want lower...

I did the sway bar 2 weeks ago and had the springs installed last week. After just the sway, I was like..."okay, not bad". After the springs, I was like, "YESSSSSS!!"

You will notice a much rougher ride, but I like feeling the road, not floating over it. Handling is improved by 100%

I bought the springs/sway package from McGeorge. Installation cost was free cause I did it myself. It's pretty simple. Just need ramps or jack & stands, and a torque wrench and you're set. Instructions included with the sway are really easy to follow.

if i didnt buy my springs on my car from the dealer i would have done the same thing - thats a pretty good deal.

There's a DIY already in the tech section, though the pics don't seem to work. Anyway, you can go to Hotchkis's site and read the instructionsand look at the pics and you'll figure out how to put in your TRD bar. It's pretty much the same.

BTW, I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to doing my own work on my car, but I'm finding that the more I do, the more I learn and the less intimidated I become. I did my sway bar, my short shifter, and my HU install, but had someone do my springs for me.

I love my TRD springs, It's a very conservitive drop. which is what I was going for (and what I mean by that is It's what the wife wanted...) And even my wife could feel and liked diffrence when she took corners in it. Plus I still have lots of room for some 18s or 19s!

I agree, I have the TRD springs and sway bar combo and I feel a big difference... the ride is more stiff but not too stiff.

I dropped my car with the TRD lowering springs last friday. I feel the difference. You just have to watch out for bumps in the road.

I just got my TRD springs on today. They dont feel that much different from stock. The lowering was such a perfect drop that I dont have to be too careful over bumps. Feels pretty good, can feel the ground alot better and I was afraid to put them on cause I didnt want a bumpy ride.....I luv them!

^^I feel every bump that I go over since I installed mine. LOL or maybe I'm just over reacting everytime I hit a bump. Boston has some bad streets anyway.

I think you just need to get used to it Dashon. I've had 3 cars in my short driving career, all lowered and the tC was def the best by far in terms of comfort with the TRD springs. Ive ridden in other lowered cars also, and nothing compared. My xB is pretty harsh compared to the tC too and thats on TRD springs.

I had 5 cars in my driving career. 3 of them was drop. I will admit the Tc feels better dropped then the GT-S celica. But the Celica was drop like 2 inches to 2.5 inches all around if i remember. Carlos remember Boston some streets are bad.

yeah, but its drivable especially with TRD Springs. My accord was 2" and that sucked driving. Where do you live? I usually drive around JP, Hyde Park and the roads are not bad, but Ive driven thru Dorchester and drove down Mass Ave last night to Somerville and those roads suck.

hmmm, I drove till 3 am last night and didnt notice much of a difference from stock.
I've driven in someone elses TC with TRD's before mine, and they scared me. His car drove really rough and his back tires where tuckin and had some ride height upfront. I didnt want my TC driving like that but It feels much more better. I think alot of places are doing the Fake TRD spring thing. (ebay springs+white paint+easy make TRD sticker= pretty good looking TRD springs)

....just my take though, I've been hearing some stories lately.

This is a very informative thread. I'll be getting my tC next week and the first mod I want to do will be swapping out the stock springs for some TRD's most likely.

Is it best to do the rear sway bar at the same time while installing the springs?
