Default My grandmother is buying a tC!

So, my grandmother needed a new car to replace her 1978 Toyota Celica, and I volunteered to help suggest cars.

She loved her '78 Celica, it was a GT Hatchback 5 speed. Bought it new. Had 300,000 miles on it, never had any major work, ran like a charm. Interior was shot to hell and back though, never had been in a garage. The exterior was rusting in places too. Anyways, it wouldnt pass smog, and the needed parts arent made anymore, and we couldnt even find em at junkyards, so we turned the car in...California pays you $1000 to turn in your car that wont pass smog. She loved her Celica tho...even I thought it was a pretty cool car :p Had a lot of zoom.

She also has a 1997 Dodge Stratus 2.0L 4cyl, 5spd,and its going to need some rather major work soon, even tho it only had around 140K on it. (bought it used). The Dodge is really weak, it doesnt have much power at all.

So, she wanted a replacement...Had to be fun to drive, had to be a hatchback and have a moonroof. She didnt like the Matrix style hatches, look too much like a miniature SUV she says. Had to be affordable also.

After looking at the options, including the RSX and Civic Si, she decided on the Scion tC, she liked the many features, and the affordable price, as well as the fact that its a Toyota. Loves the panoramic moonroof too, and the rear seat room...and the fold flat seats...and well everything *grin*

Its gonna be a automatic, she likes a 5 spd but she wants something thats less of a bother, especially since its mostly local driving she does, in traffic and such, so theres a lotta shifting.

She is getting the model with the moonroof and such...only options are probably going to be the security system.....dunno what else, prolly not much.....Thinking about getting it in Azure Pearl. Wants something that wont show lots of dirt and dust....She sorta liked the Black Cherry Pearl, but her Dodge is a similar colour, Dark Rosewood, and it shows every little bit of dust. She doesnt like the white, silver or blue..and the grey colors are too dark....

Probably wont be buying it for a couple months at least....not in a big rush. Anybody know if the 2008 models are going to be any different? I wonder what the RS3 color will be. Anyhow, anybody have any suggestions or comments? Its an awesome car, I just wish I was the one getting it...Id be modding it like mad I looove the tC.

BTW, the lame scion security is just for insurance really....altho, she dont have a garage, itll be aprked out on the drive....is there a better alternative to the scion security thats not any more expencive, might actually be better, and be something I could install? Im pretty handy, FYI.

pretty much any security system outside the dealer will be better. For roughly the same price, an alarm with pager can be had.
