I would like to lower my box but both me and my wife are extremely worried about bottoming out... I was thinking Tein s-tech. has anyone had any bottoming out issues regardless of what brand they are?? and what kind of diff could I notice on the ride? THX

i load my car with my wife and two sons, it doesnt bottom. I dropped my car 2". If you want to be safe, drop it a little. Use the Tein H techs instead of the S techs.

as for the ride, its gonna be stiffer. No questions about it. If you want to do it right the first time, and spend more money use coilovers. Those you can adjust the height from stock to slammed. And the ride is much more comfortable than just drop springs.

If you want a ride that is close to stock or even more comfortable while lowered, please look at this link.

The link above is the Buyers Guide: Scion xA/xB Suspension. It's the first topic in the Suspension/Handling forum.

Pick a lowering spring that is close to the stock spring rates of the xB. Tanabe NF210 are softer than the stock springs for instance. If you don't want your car to bottom out. Do not remove your bump stops. You'll go low and still be comfortable. Happy Lowering.

I have S Techs and 17" wheels. Went to Vegas last year with my wife and daughter (and two weeks of luggage for a 3 day trip). No problems whatsoever. The ride will be a little stiffer--I prefer it that way myself. If feel that the car handles turns a lot better since I lowered and put on a strut bar. A lot would depend on the wheel/tire combination you use.

i have df210 springs. i like the ride much better then stock. but if you want to do it the right way and have some extra cash. get a coilover suspension, just as someone mentioned above.
