Carbon Fiber Upholstery
So what does everyone think about carbon fiber vynle upholstery. I'm interested in doing my door panels in silver. What does this stuff feel like, and how easy is it to deal with. Thanks.
I say definately photoshop it first.
I think you mean the carbon fiber vinyl fabric, not the vinyl sticker stuff.
The vinyl fabric is pretty rough and, well... It feels like a picnic tablecloth. With ridges.
As far as dealing with it, if you decide to do it it's fairly easy to work with. You'll want to remove the panels, heat the vinyl with a hairdryer and stretch it around the panel.
Then use Contact Cement to adhere it to the back of the panel.
FYI, they do sell adhesive Real Carbon Fiber sheets in various thicknesses that are adhesive and you can do the same thing to. If you have or plan on putting any real carbon fiber in the car, I'd say go with that.
