Howdy Gang- Well - I am awaiting to hear the fate of my Lava XB. I was in an accident last Saturday and they are determining whether or not they are going to fix it or total the car out. I am sick to my stomach at this point. Has anyone else out there been in an accident with their Scion?

The passenger side is straight still, the majority of the damage is to the driver side.

ouch. I'd be sick also. how'd the airbags do when they deployed? What's your opinion of how it held up?

scooter

I thought it held up great and I felt very secure. I know that may bea funny thing to say in light of the situation. The airbags deployed, butI never came in contact with them, other than the burn I received on my arm from the deployment charge.

well you have to look at the bright side. you are one of the few that has wrecked their box and you can help those who haven't feel safer about how it held up. I think alot of people are worried due to those pics of the bB all fubared.

Doesn't look that bad they'll probably fix it. I manage a body shop and the only thing I can see that you may have a problem is the availability of replacement parts. When a car is this new most parts are slated for the assembly line. That and with the fact that these cars are built in Japan, you may be waiting a while for parts. Good luck and keep us posted on what happens.

I was hit in the rear door a couple weeks ago. They had to order some parts from Japan, but they are in already. The shop said I was lucky that I had a Toyota because they actually stop the line to take out the necessary parts needed to fix a car.

Hey gang! They totalled out the Lava. I am crushed. It is at the Insurance Auto Auction in Chula Vista off of Pogo road. There is alot of good stuff on it if anyone is looking for a parts car.

Sorry to hear about the wreck, Glad to hear that the totalled it out, you never want a vehicle back that has been wrecked to that extent, as said above they will never be right again.

Hey, sorry to hear about your Hot Lava. Is there any possible way you can get parts off it. I need a passenger side ground effects skirt. Mine was messed up last night when a curb got to close.

Looks like yours was a little worse than mine. Had my HLB for an entire month. Hit once and crunched it once. Have been waiting to get it back for almost two month. Slow movement on parts.

Grills are non-existent.

I rear ended a Honda on my 75th mile of driving my new TCM. I swerved a little and ended up crumpling the hood and right fender. I too felt like it crashed very well. No damage to the drive train, just one crumple zone on front frame. Very bad news on repair speed though. Shipping on replacement hoods is now in it's fourth try to get one undamaged. 3 weeks to get vital radiator support member (starting point) 37 days later they are close to putting her back together....after $4K.

Point of my post,

I am proud of how well it wrecked (at least 25 mph, no brakes at all!), dissapointed on possible repair speed. Parts are not handy. So, don't wreck!?????????
