Default 04 or 05?

For example, if I went to the dealership this week and bought an xA, would I get a 04 or 05? Would they still have the same base price? I'm getting mine completely basic. I figured I can add stuff on later and keep a low payment.

I bought (or should I say requested that the scion gods take a month to find me a black 5 speed) my xa last weekend. The dealer told me that they were all 2005s now. He had a 2004 on the lot, but he wouldn't deal. It was thirty dollars cheaper than the 2005, because the 2005s MSPR is thirty dollars more than the 2004s MSRP.

most likely an '05, but depending where you are you might find an '04 left. the price difference is $30.

Many dealers still have only 2004 on the lots, and some may not even mention the 2005's are available yet. Many of the 2004's left have the free 6cd changer. In 2005, the price did increase about $30, I believe due to destination fee. The 2005 model added a passenger-side visor mirror, should already have the TSB for the AC incorporated, and has a different radio head unit (or something like that). Although they make it sound like you need the 6 CD changer to play mp3s on CDs [mp3-ready is what they say], that's not true - any of these 2004 or 2005 units will play mp3s. There was also some speculation that the horn is louder.

So with the pure pricing, dealers can't mark down the 2004 models?

sucks for anyone that doesn't know the 05s are out.. cause that $30 will mean hundreds in resale value later on.

On my deposit slip from the dealership it said, "2004 Scion xA" but I actually picked up a 2005. :D

One of the dealers here is running a special on the 2004's. They are $300.00 off and come with the 6 CD changer upgrade for free. Check with your dealers. They won't come out and tell you about these deals so you have to specifically ask and/or dig around on their website. Also all the dealers weren't offering these incentives, just one (Hollywood Scion of Florida).

Unfortunately they had only one manual 2004 and it wasn't the color I wanted, so I went with a 2005.
