Default Any interest in a turbo kit

please excuse me moderators this is in no way an advertisment. Simply a feeler thread.

I work for Automotosports (AMS) we build high end turbo kits for DSM's and EVOLUTIONS. We have been tossing the Idea around at the shop of making a turbo kit for the TC becuase of the amount of room available under the hood. It would be a complete kit with fuel controll and all. I want to know if there is an interest for this. Enough of an interest for us to go out and purchase a TC and begin deveoping this and many parts for the car. We currently have the two highest All wheel horsepower EVO 8's in the county (street Trim) at 600 plus all wheel hp a piece. Please be as blunt and honest as possible in the replies that will follow this. I want as acurate feedback as possible. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Im sure a lot of people will be interested. I for one am. What kind/size of turbo are you thinking about? I know one other company has shown interest but several people thought the turbo they were using was too small.

Make me one.

No one can predict how the car will like boost. No one knows how a turbo will work yet, so any numbers are pretty much getting pulled out of someones ___.

Eric, I'm trying as hard as I can to get your srt4 kit shipped out ASAP. I'll make sure you get some t-shirts or something for the trouble.

Cya at the Shootout.

Don't mess with the AMS guys. I hear they pull guns on people and stuff. :D

AMS is one of the better DSM vendors out there, so naturally we'd love to see what they come up with.

we would most likely be using the new ballistic series line from garret that we are using on the evo. GT3071R GT3076R and if you guys are serious enough GT35R. Well looks like we are going to have to go out and buy ourselves a TC

instead of buying one, why dont you guys get somebody's tC and use it and in return, give him a free kit or something?

that would be cheaper

yea getting someone to let you use there car is the way to go, both parties win, you save 160 bills and they get a free turbo. isn't that how borla made the duel exhaust? I'm sure someone would let you use their car for a turbo kit too, even if it would take 3 months. find someone local and get them to bring it in when ever you need it that way they can still drive it.

that sounds all well and good but we would need a car here 24/7 for developing. using a customers car is simply out of the question. Honestly I cannot project a price for the kit but I can show you our previous work so you can get an idea of what you have to look forward to

that kit retails for 3800-4200 depending on the turbo choice. its for an EVO VIII. currently we have pulled 600 AWHP out of that setup and the kits has had several spots in Modified magazine. look for the newest one is september.

are there any other products that you would be interested in us developing? We are a full fabrication facility so we can do it all.

I'd be interested... that price is a bit higher than some other manufactures are quoting, but I won't hold ya to it.

Any chance in making a 6-Spd Transmission?
