I was informed, be it misinformed or not, that a short ram can actually provide better horsepower gains than a CAI. I was told that the CAI’s usually having too many significant bends decrease airflow. The SRI is getting hotter air but actually getting more air. And, if you really want good clean flow, go with a scoop setup, be it all aside from turbo and superchargers. But I think of cost and overall goal first. Like I say this is hearsay and I am open to correction.

Sure it'll still be slow, but it'll sound better and you'll be able to say that you have an intake. That's all that matters. All it takes is a ZPI turbo kit and the xB isn't slow anymore. There's nothing like a sleeper! I've seen so many bugs that run sub 10's in the 1/4 and they were slow when they first came out. Quit hatin!

Fujita has a strong backing from the xB community. more people run their short ram than probably every other kind put together. that being said i have the AEM full cold air. it does do well but i will eventually get the fujita because of the filter placement. my dryflow gets wet when it rains cause im running without liners. also, the TRD cold air is a rebrand of the AEM. they are the same but one is installed from the dealer most of the time.

Thanks for the info, I definitely will get a short ram I had a CAI before in my OO Honda Civic Si and is was a pain in the neck to take off, clean the filter and put it back. I guess is a matter of how much you want to spend for the K&N or the Fujita.

check out the dc sports short ram. They are all pretty much the same design though, in terms of the piping. the filter would be the determining factor I think.
