i have posted this in the tc forum but have not been able to get the problem resolved. i purchased a ipod yesterday and im useing the jack in the armrest to run it through the stereo, but im only getting sound out of the driver side speakers. I have the right cable (two rings). I tried it this morning in a friends tc and it does the same thing. Anybody have any suggestions?

i don't have a tc or an ipod so i'm not going to be any help to you on that. although this thread should be moved to TC ICE so that you could get a better response from the people there.

Have you tried another iPod? Maybe the headphone jack is bad and that is why it is doing the same on your car and your friend's car? I have an iPod, but I am using the factory iPod cable and use the factory Alpine deck to control it. I have an xB and not a tC.

The only other thing I can think of is that you actually have the incorrect cable. You may have a MONO cable and you may need a STEREO cable. Just throwing out ideas.

If its not the cable, you said you have a stereo cable. Then there are only two possibilties. The ipod plug, or the car plug. Test it with another ipod. if it works then its your ipod, if it doesn't, then take it to the dealer and have them fix it under warranty

do u have the standard deck or the ipod upgrade? im assuming its just the standard deck cause u said 2 rings and headphone jack, try a new cable, they are all of 2 dollars at radio shack i think. if its not that try a different ipod,

If you're using the Audio Peripheral (or w/e its called...the box+adapter) you have a lose connection to the back of your headunit. After about 2 weeks of having my iPod in my tC, my sound would drop out and only go to the drivers speakers, after hitting bumps, hitting my leg on the center console, etc. Just take the HU out and give the plug a nice push into it, or even tape it on or something.

never really got whether it was the dock prot or the 1/8" jack your using, but if its the 1/8" take it to an Apple store, if you live near the Biltmore fashion center, or wherever the other Apple store is over in Gilbert(or something like that) take it to them and have them check on it, should be covered if its been less than a year since your registered it.
