I thought i was goingto for sure get an xB but, i went with my friends around norwak and i saw some real nice tCs. And i think im going to get a tC now i like alot more now that ive been in one.

thats wierd i was the exact opposite i went test drove a tc liked it, planned out getting one in the spring then took a look at the xb drove it and now must have it

at first i wanted the tC... then i saw it in person and realized it looked like every other coupe out on the road. i've always wanted the xB so i ditched the tC and now plan on getting the xB. the xB has more taste than the tC, imo.

da box - i am going through the same issue. i think i am going to have to base my decision on the smile factor...and i just smiled more while driving the tC. don't get me wrong...the xB is one-of-a-kind, but the tC offers a whole lotta bang-for-the-buck. i feel like my money goes farther with the tC...wish i could have both!

Keep in mind, the xB is a much lighter vehicle...

Well you dont buy a box for it to be fast...its a box...and its zippy enough to get around people and on the highway...the tC will just blend into well im afraid its going to be the next RSX or Civic...Boxes are pimp but whatever floats your boat 8)

Not to try and sell you on the Box, but when I was shopping for mine, I was extremely worried that it wouldn't be enough power. I bought the five speed and 2nd-4th gears are great acceleration gears that gives it the right amount of pep. I feel 1st is relatively useless past 10-15mph or so. But go with whichever makes you feel most "at home". Their both a steal! Good luck.

and i WAY rather have 180 hp then 108 hp
So performance wise the tC is way better,
but the looks of the xB are way better than the tC
so i can't make a disission :lol: :? :(

Too bad the box wasn't on the TC platform than it would be the best of both worlds!

hey hey hey....what about the xA? everyones pro box (xB even has a nickname already) or pro tc. i have to throw a vote towards my xA....don't flame me, but imo i think that between the xA and xB (they are more comparable) that the xA has more potential to be fixed up. it's hard to touch the box and not change what it looks like.......

I was also initially attracted to the coupe and got on the waiting list. I just happened to be by that Toyota dealer, test drove the Xb and 30 min later, owned my first new car. Its a feeling. If the coup gives you that feeling, go for it! For me, its all about the box. Just put my Konig heliums on this weekend and am loving the (11 lb.) lightness. And, btw, I credit getting my new girlfriend to the box. It really is a chick magnet. 8)

Hey now! My xA is definitely a chick magnet! I have had no fewer than 15 women this week ask me about my car while drooling and absolutely wetting their pants over it! The only hitch was when the director of the Majestic Manor Retirement Home came out and told the ladies to get back inside the house...it was their med time. :(

Seriously, I have had more comments (positive) about this car then I ever did with my WRX. People (and young women) LOVE it..

i'd say go test drive the car for yourself. i like the feeling of the xB instead of the tC. so im going with the xB. daym... 3 1/2 more months... i think

get a segway and pimp it with dvd/plasma/surround/xbox/la cucarracha horn/hydraulics if you really wanna be different. that is money well spent.

ya, aout the power wise, i heard that automatic and manual make the speed really different...like night and day... does the manual really seem much faster? , plus the xb, lowered, tints, and a nice set of 18 inch rims make it a really nice cruiser

the manual xb is about 1 second faster than the auto xb in the 1/4 mile.

I don't think the tC just looks like another coupe as everyone says. The reason why I got one was because it was a bang for your buck. Plus, it looks very sleek and classy for the price compared to those in the price range (ie civic, corolla, tiburon, mazda3). Someone mentioned it looks just like a civic. You guys are out of your mind! Don't insult my tC! :? I've always compared it to the BMW, Audi, Volvo, Tiburon, etc. but a civic??? Please! and what car doesn't like look like any other car out there now a days??? The only way you could ever get away from the pack is to buy a ferarri, nsx, or lambo. Otherwise your xB looks like an element, your mazda3 looks like an sI, yada yada yada.

If I squint real hard I see Audi when I look at a tC not another japbox. But, it's still so generic that it will be lost in the crowd and date quickly. The xB, like Jeep Cherokee, is a timeless shape that will be accepted for as long as you have it.

Too bad Toyota didn't take the xA shape to the next level and give us a slightly larger discount Mercedes A Class.

I thought i was goingto for sure get an xB but, i went with my friends around norwak and i saw some real nice tCs. And i think im going to get a tC now i like alot more now that ive been in one.

I've only seen them from the exterior and I like the tC as well. But, after a test drive in a xB (when I was considering an xA) there was no comparison between the two.

I didn't even consider the tC for a couple reasons:

1) I had just sold my GSR powered Civic and was looking for something I could cruise in.

2) Insurance would be a lot higher than my civic ($35 p/mth) and an xB (probably both combined).

3) I wouldn't be happy with the performance coming from a 14 sec Honda.

4) .....and I knew a few months down the road (like NOW) I would be ready to get another civic hatch and get back in the racing scene :P

You know you gotta get a new screen name now, you can't be "Da Box" and drive a TC. :D
