Default Yakima Roof Rack

Does anyone have one of these on there 2005 tC? I did a search online and found a place that had them for 220 but they didn't have it for the '05 model? Are the mounts for the '05 and '06 the same or should I keep searching for a 2005 version? If anyone has found it cheaper, it would be much appriciated because between payments, biking expensises(sp?), and paintball, I'm really tight on cash.
Thanks,
Andy

Edit: heres the link to the site i found http://scionpartspeople.com/SearchPr...able+Roof+Rack

I think there is not much difference (if any) between the roofs of 05's and 06's, but I could be wrong. If you want to be absolutely sure, ask the dealership if their model fits all years. And if so, then the answer you're looking for is yes.

I was thinking the exact same thing (as far as being able to open the moonroof). If he had a spec tC then he wouldn't have to worry...lol.... one more advantage to the spec, I guess....

But the ones that they sell for tCs are removable. Looks like the mounts stay in place and the cross bar comes off. I wonder what they look like with the mounts sticking out?

from what I've read online, you're not suppost to open the roof. I think the pillars come off as well though

jchen - when you remove the rack, do the pillars come off as well?

Well, if the pillars come off it shouldn't look too bad. Was always wondering about that. Yakima roof racks wouldn't be a bad thing for snowboarding trips, not like you're gonna be opening the moonroof too much anyways.

Not yet. But luckily when it does, I can fit my snowboard in the back without having to attach it to the roof. The next trick is to find an actual place arond here to go snowboarding.... ditches and snowbanks just don't work too well....

I'm looking at the Saris rack right now and its a lot cheaper then the yamika rack. I did a search and Buster71 has had the rack for 5 years and had no problems. All you'd need at Saris #24 clips, $19.99 on amazon, and 59" load bars. pretty good for a roof mounted rack

It's about 5 hours away, but decent...probably 6 from Fargo

As for the Yakima on an '05. Yeah, it was an option back then, so I'd assume it fits just fine

Did you pick your tC up at Corwin?

No, I got it at Cedric Theel in Bismarck. The salesman "helping" me at Corwin couldn't find a dealer trade for a manual. (even though I managed to find one myself)
