View Full Version : No Black xB's?
MattS 07-23-2004, 11:32 AM I spoke to a dealership the other day and told them that I wanted a Black xB and they told me that they dont make them in black. But then I replied with, "Then why does it show it on their website?" and he couldnt really give me a good answer. Just curious because these dealership guys do EVERYTHING from that site, they generate prices and everything from www.scion.com. Just curious to see if he was telling the truth.
Thanks.
BTW, I did a search on this topic and nothing was generated that is why I asked.
Sardonicus 07-23-2004, 12:00 PM Odd, since I'm driving a 05 black sand xB.
trogdor 07-23-2004, 12:23 PM They do make them in black of course, however I think they are a pretty well requested color. Out of 7 dealerships in Kansas City metro(population of about 2million) only one xB automatic in the last month has come in and I'll be picking that one up today.
DJ_X_Trodinaire 07-23-2004, 12:55 PM dealer must be smoking crack!
Max2k 07-23-2004, 01:06 PM Homeslice was straight lying to you.
dealer must be smoking crack!
or maybe something even better
Milhamscion 07-23-2004, 01:28 PM We have one on the show room floor right now in manual and is available if you don't mind driving to PA.
biohazardous_customz 07-23-2004, 01:36 PM wow that dealer is lying to you bad we havelots of the black around here driving around. . .
scottwood2 07-23-2004, 01:39 PM Translation:
He does not have any black xB's so telling you it is not available might get you to buy a color that he does have.
Does not say much for the dealer in my book. Even if it was a honest mistake on his part. I don't like to play games with these guys. If they don't know their stuff then I go to someone who does.

MY SUGGESTION ~ Take your business elsewhere to anouther Scion Dealer !
MattS 07-23-2004, 05:31 PM I should print off this page and show it to him. Totally own his ___. He was the typical salesmen looking for a sale THAT day and not trying to cater to the customer.
Sorta makes me angry
Smoke20Scion 07-23-2004, 05:36 PM Go back in and say if you don't want the sale I am sure someone else can get my black Xb. Then go to his manager and request that him get you a black XB.
bB_Local_Boy 07-23-2004, 05:49 PM And if you decide to purchase/finance any of their outrageously marked up aftermarket products, be sure they give you the stock pieces. i.e. AEM CAI, get your stock air box back. TRD Rims, get your black steelies back.
No where in the contract does it say that you are paying these cut throat prices "in exchange for". Don't let them steal from you.

the_saint 07-23-2004, 07:32 PM Can't dealers trade between themselves?
Say for instance:
dealer "A" has a PW xB
dealer "B" has a BSP xB
customer 1 goes to dealer "A" and wants a BSP xB
customer 2 goes to dealer "B" and want a PW xB
since dealer "A" does not have a BSP but dealer "B" does
and dealer "B" does not have a PW but dealer "A" does
can't dealer "A" and dealer "B" trade inventory?
And if so, which train would arrive in New York City first?
I know there are more variables to consider, but isn't that, in effect, what dealerships do?
xdorkx 07-24-2004, 12:42 AM Once you go black, u never go back.
har har har
but yeah, i've got a black xb
looks very black indeed
katchkillah 07-24-2004, 08:11 AM i don't really call that black. having metallic flakes in it is like a very dark gray in the day. if they had solid black i would definitely by that. i guess i will go with the polar white.
2tone_xB 07-24-2004, 09:08 PM There's usually no BSP xB's at the dealerships around me.
Though have of my xB is BSP, keeping it clean is a biznatch...
BLKScion 07-24-2004, 09:21 PM as you can guess from my name...i have a BSP xB...although my dealer did not have this color in stock..(most dont) It is def still avaliable....good crack i guess
josho66 07-26-2004, 12:59 PM I got an 05, check out my signature for a link to pics. Black is hard to take care of, but sure does look good.
must have been a rookie sales guy, guess he didn't know that the black sand pearl was the black. You need to go back and say,"This is what I want dam it!!" :D
Gerberscion 07-26-2004, 03:24 PM Technicaly it's not Black HAHA I have black sand pearl one on my show floor! Yu are always going to find bad sales people Thank God I'm a good one!
Since the Scions are in such High demand dealers are most likley not going to trade! at my dealer almost all the scions are on order, aspecially the TC, Its TOOO HOT!
BLeeK 07-26-2004, 03:53 PM lol @ there is no black
it's funny how bad some sales people are, I dont care if black sand or black(202) it's still black I mean its not ''light black'' or ''dark black'' I asked if my dealer if we had silver they said ''we have 2''
find a new dealer or PM me, we'll take care of the ''black'' color you want

the same exact thing happened to me when i was getting my xb and ended up with a tcm at a different dealer. i really like the tcm alot better than black now that i have seen it.
silkywilson 07-26-2004, 06:20 PM Since they dont make plack does that make my BSP like a limited production model? or maybe a one off?....ROFLMAO Dealers a jackass...
Craig_X1 07-27-2004, 02:21 AM My local dealer has two BSP xB's in stock right now. Just went in there today to look at the tC they just got in.

That's what my dealer did, traded a BSP auto for my BSP 5 speed.
