Default Help me pick out my T3 turbo......

Ok, so I just ordered my manifold and it should be here within a week or so (I hope).....

I was woundering what turbo I should go with. My manifold supports T3 flange and an external wastegate. I have been looking at a couple of Garretts and Turbonetics, but there are so many options.....

So, what dose everyone think and recomand. I am looking for a turbo with little lag and has some good power. I am looking for a turbo that can handle 350hp. Any comments will help out......Thanks.

Get the XS Power one from eBay d00d! No Im JK stay away from those! I too would like to know what a good t3 flanged turbo would be and where I could find one for a decent price. Hopefully under $450. Whats your budget Fairladyz541?

At what psi do you want to make 350whp?

.48-.63 AR is good. Stage 1, 2, or 3 compressor wheel, depending on where you want your powerband.

I am looking around $700 for the turbo.

I am just looking to run 8psi. I know I will not get 350hp with 8psi, but I want a turbo that can handle more so when I build the motor up next summer it will be capable of hitting 350hp.

I want more power at the 4-6000rpm range since I will have a hard time hooking the car at anything below 2000rpm

Wayyyy too big of a turbo.

Stick with a smaller AR. That turbo will surge way too much lat lower rpms/boost and not make enough power on the top end to balance it out. Something smaller will actually be faster.

smaller trims are better for our boost/displacement...

This would be a better performing turbo on our car...

From our site...

This turbo, but select a .63 AR with either the S2 or S3 wheel:

Garrett has two models I can find. One with the 60 trim and one with a 57 trim. They both have a .63 a/r. How would you chose which one will work out better.

60 trim will flow a little better as the rpms and boost goes up (from about 5000rpms up at over 10psi). The smaller 57 trim is better laid our for most efficient power at a slightly lower rpm level, as well as the boost level.

It's hard to describe, but usually a smaller turbo is just funner to drive, and feels peppier, regardless of the dyno numbers or track times.

So, something like this would be a nice turbo for the tC........

I will wait and see what the Turbonetics GTK line has in store after SEMA untill I buy my turbo.

In the mean time, I will be buying the intercooler pipe kit from Dezod soon...........

Keep posting your suggestions on turbos and I will have to wait and see what happens

Oh yesss it will

Don't do stage 5 and you're fine. Turbonetics has an oil pressure restrictor built into the turbo, so you don't have to worry about finding the right restrictor out there, or blowing the seals of your turbo any time soon. I've had great luck with all of the turbonetics turbos I've run or installed.

-im headin to bed for the night though. I'll follow up with you in the morning. Thanks.

GTK is a great line but will be a little bit more than what you were talking about spending. Their standard hybrid series are still great turbos for the money.

Thanks for your support!
