Hey guys, just wanted to get some input, see if anyone has any ideas. Lately I've noticed that while cruising in any gear, the car loses power for a second or two and then suddenly goes back to normal. It's more pronounced in the low gears but I can still feel it in 4th & 5th. I don't notice a change in rpm really, or a change in boost pressure. The only things I think it could be is a problem with my injectors or spark plugs. I'm running the stock plugs right now, but I plan on switching to colder plugs soon. One thing I did notice though, my primary o2 sensor has a light powdered coating from the high temp RTV I used to make the gasket. I guess the excess material burnt off and was sent out the exhaust, depositing some on the sensor itself. If the sensor isn't reading 100% accurate, could that throw off the engine's idle & cause the wierd power loss?

 

My guess is you might have glazed your sparkplugs i would switch to denso ik24's or
NGK BKR8EIX i have glazed 2 sets of BKR7EIX so i went to the 8 heat range thats two steps colder then stock and its been fine ever since. also maybe check for boost leaks

 

This morning I inspected all of my plugs and they still seem to be in good shape. I still think that getting at least a 1 or 2 step colder plug should help, but I'm not really sure that is the cause of my power loss. Right now my injector wires are crimped. This weekend I'm going to solder them, but still, I don't think that is the root issue. My check engine light for the o2 sensors keep coming on, and they never did that until I noticed the crap on the primary sensor. I mean theres really tons of this orange powder completely covering the sensor. I think I'm gonna change it out and see if that's whats affecting my idle and power loss. Maybe it's not reading the right a/f mixture and adjusting timing/fuel delivery because of it.
