View Full Version : Alsa Corp hooked me up with their new Killer Cans...(PICS)
Joe_Dezod 10-11-2006, 03:08 AM Alsa has now sponsered my tC and as part of that I got a shipment of some killer cans. The new cans spray true automotove paint, to match whatever paint you had purchased from them. My exterior was painted Aqua Blue, so I had the same color cans shipped to me. Needless to say, my interior finally truely matches my exterior. Better pics to come!

lil_will 10-11-2006, 03:16 AM That looks awesome. Did you put any clearcoat over that?
Joe_Dezod 10-11-2006, 04:23 AM Yes I did two layers. I'll upload some pics of it installed right now. It's late at night so I'm only using a flash. Tomorrow I'll be taking a few day time pictures.
Somnambulated 10-11-2006, 04:30 AM That looks really good.
Joe_Dezod 10-11-2006, 04:34 AM Ok here's two new pics... I know there's a red rag behind my screen. I switched dashes and didn't have time to fiberglass the new one. I'll be making a trim piece tomorrow and carpeting it to seal up that whole gap around and above the radio. Then it'll actually look good!

MysTiKchRis 10-13-2006, 04:09 AM I think it defiantly needs a coat of DuPont Croma Clear. You can get it in aerosol forum from any paint supply store...
pb4ugoout 10-14-2006, 05:14 PM this is totally off topic here but joe how did you mount your 5700 in the bottom like that? i have mine up top where my bracket put it. is this a different bracket? have you tried to set it back further to put the door back on? i'm almost ready to get rid of it for a 6800

Do you mind going over all the supplies and the steps to get results like yours?
honey0bucket 10-14-2006, 10:51 PM i work in a bodyshop...so i used the real automotive paint. no rattle cans...no nothing like that. that sthe same stuff you'd use on the outside of your car :)
that being said..i cant realy go into the steps because there are none. unless you know how to paint..if you do, then i can explain in further detail..or heck if you wantme to just ask and i wil.

Yeah, if you don't mind. Just kindda go over the steps, what type of sand and how many coat, etc.
Oh BTW, where can I get quality paint, beside going to a body shop?
pb4ugoout 10-16-2006, 01:01 AM www.paintscratch.com
you can order everything you'll need and they even have a nifty thing that will tell you what to buy based on what you are doing. they'll even send you any paint they can mix, in a rattle can. including automotive paint.

first scuff the serface with 600 grit sandpaper.
then clean/whipe with a plastic surface cleaner
then spray a plastic adhesion promotor on once the cleaner has dried. (this will be out of a rattle can)
then wait about ten minutes or so for that to dry.
then you spray the color/clear on JUST like you would the exterior.
its pretty easy if you have the tools and access to paint and such.
let me know if you have any other questions.

i dig that...i think it only works for black though..the full thing painted...but that looks good.
eLpReSiDeNtE 10-17-2006, 02:53 AM question honey0bucket how in the world did u manage to paint the button without going over the red???.....andi think it looks sweet in SW and FM as well....maybe even Silver.....who knows....i luv me sum BSP!!
WeDriveScions 10-17-2006, 02:53 AM Man, not feeling that interior at all... the paint isn't as sharp and glossy as getting it done with real paint, and the guages on the dash/the towel in the center consol to hide the single din empty slot....
:( sorry, rattle can < real job every time... high contrast colors like blue/red/pink... just can't go with all the other stock interior....
For pics of a BSP interior done right... you can see my profile.

im god... :lalala:
no seriously i jsut took some fine line masking tape (very very thin) and masked it then cut it with a razor knife exactly on the triangle part..painted over it then peeled it off. it was pretty simple
