Actually...I heard the 05s have a vanity mirror on the passenger side, as well as an updated stereo...

My floormats are broken... I think I need to check their connection to the AWD system that they added for '05... :? 2005 Changes: The wee mirror on the passenger side. Slightly improved head unit. Smaller exhaust tip with vanity oval shaped tip bolted on. 700 extra N/A HP  . I think that's all that's new. There might be other small things, but since haven't owned an '04, and don't know any locals that have any Scions, I'm kinda ___ out. Will post picks of my schoolgirl drag session this afternoon... (J/K)

P.S. : I was so excited I did the 'Otso-Otso' at the Dealership.

Dude.... I think you're gonn have to spend another $5,000 for a new floormat system. Wow, that really blows. :(

I'm sure the dealer will void your warranty since that intake you put in made the floor mats mess up. lol. you know, think about it, if you remove your floormats completely, you will go faster. less weight=go faster. by my calculations, your 1/4 mile time should increase by .0000000000001. Yeah! :D

If I read and guessed right, the little mirror on the sun visor thing-ma-jig on the passenger side?

The passenger mirror is the same as the driver visor mirror. As for ordering it, I didn't. I walked in there and they had about 10 xB's on the lot. I had no color in mind, so I just when with the first one that impressed me (Thunder Common Metallic). I also heard they shortened the amount of stearing wheel turns from lock to lock on the 2005's.[/b]

Cool, any plans on mods?

Looking mostly at a cruiser with a light serving of gumption on the side. Planned mods:

Light weight (looking at NKB/Work/Volk/Buddy Racing) wheels 15x7 or 15x8 with ~30 offset, hopefully HyperSilver

Tein S-Tech Spings

LARGE Sunroof/Moonroof

MAYBE I/H/E... but not too sure.

that's great about the camo xb. I got mine last week but had to add the factory spoiler(great for those high speed launches, really keeps the tires on the ground)

Not sure I understand? "High-Speed Launch" Either way, you're not worried about the break in period I see...

grnxb
07-27-2004, 02:12 AM
i'm telling you, that whole "break-in period" thing is just another scam. I mean, if a new car can't take repeated 6K rpm burnouts (traction control off) within it's first 1000 mi, it must be defective.

mill0048
07-27-2004, 02:57 AM
It's not that the car 'can't take it'... Do you even wait for your engine/oil temp to warm up before you do said things? Do you even care about your engine? I love driving an engine hard now and again, but there are some things that are just silly. Do a search on break-in, and warming up you'll see there's more to owning and operating a car than a couple peddles and wheels.

i'm sorry, I can't take it anymore. The jig is up. I have yet to do a "high speed launch" in my xb and don't expect to. It only has 166 miles on it as of today and has not seen anything past 4-4500 rpm during normal driving conditions. To be truthful, I haven't done a burnout in anything in well over five years. Considering our little XB's only have 106 or whatever h.p., the idea of a spoiler or anything else helping to provide traction is pretty much hilarious. BTW I am apprehensive about even taking it out of the garage in fear of it getting scracthed in a parking lot, let alone abusing my new car. I am sure that some xb owners look forward to pushing these neat looking family cars to their limits, I'm not that guy. Either way, In reality, I side with you. I don't have the money to waste on repairs due to abuse or anything else for that matter.
