NJthunder5spd 07-24-2004, 10:29 PM here's another contribution to my "if i can build it, then why buy it" fund.

DJ_X_Trodinaire 07-24-2004, 11:30 PM nice job bro!!
definately you will save money!
Scott17 07-24-2004, 11:51 PM How about if you can build it, you could sell me one!  ~~~~~~~~~~scott
NJthunder5spd 07-25-2004, 02:43 AM Scott17, trust me.. ive already thought about that one since it costs me almost nothing to make it.. it just takes some time to get everything in the correct position. i need to get a few better tools so it can be fabricated faster. my welds arent exactly perfect yet either but thats because im impatient and didnt clean the area enough.
actually what i really need is a car lift.. that would speed up the fabrication about 100%.. instead i have to crawl around on the ground and go back and forth to my garage.
oh well perhaps if i do make a few more ill sell them for a decent $$
mikochu 07-25-2004, 03:00 AM I'm interested :D
MyBoX 07-25-2004, 03:23 AM For a decent price, you got a buyer here, Nice job, Sean

nooo... what you need is not a lift. You need to make a JIG. Every brace will be identical to the one before it. Just make sure you build you jig off your best brace.
NJthunder5spd 07-25-2004, 10:19 PM you know.. thats absolutely correct windowtint
i think im gonna make 1 up asap!
now all i need to do is come up with a $$
T25Accent 07-27-2004, 04:26 AM I was gonna' make my own too, but depending on what you charge, I may not need to! Thought of a price yet?? Oh yeah, what's it made from?
Thanks
Rob
yes I figured it was metal, but what type? Steel? Aluminum? Titanium(yeah right)
Munch 07-27-2004, 04:28 AM That's pretty sweet 8)
Fujiz_xb 07-27-2004, 04:55 AM wut does that part do?
XAonair 07-27-2004, 05:04 AM VERY NICELY DONE !!!!! make a jig for not only the welding process but the cutting of the tubes and the notching process
Uno1200mob 07-27-2004, 05:18 AM If the price is right, i'm in 100%
NJthunder5spd 07-27-2004, 04:07 PM t25accent: no price yet.. and its steel. in all actuality its extremely light too
fujiz_xb: its designed to replace the factory little braces and help stiffen the undercarriage by linking the subframe to the unibody in a stronger way.
NJthunder5spd 07-27-2004, 04:08 PM oh btw.. as soon as i get a chance to get a new bottle for my welder im gonna see how the welds come out using gas instead of flux cored wire
TinyMeat 07-27-2004, 04:19 PM count me in. Let us know how she handles after the install.
Nice work.
NJthunder5spd 07-27-2004, 10:09 PM im happy to see the site back up.. i hated to be without it
i made a little jig to make more braces today.. now all i need to do is buy more materials since i used what i had to make mine. as soon as i make a couple that work ill let everyone know when i shall have enough available.
i think $100 + shipping (which should be cheap since it weighs nothing) will be the sale price
NJthunder5spd 07-27-2004, 10:12 PM tinymeat.. i noticed just a slight difference in cornering around long corners. it seemed to hold a little tighter than before. as for fast cornering and zig zags it seems to have not changed much but thats because i keep gettin thrown back and forth on the seat
TinyMeat 07-27-2004, 11:00 PM LOL!
Maybe a pair of sparcos are in order. Or perhaps a 5pt harness.
NJthunder5spd 07-27-2004, 11:28 PM LOL!

i was gonna do that but i already put monitors in my headrests and dont wanna ruin a new set of sparcos by cutting holes in it for monitors.
as for a harness.. well i dont wanna have the belt block anyone from sitting in the back since the straps would block a seat
TinyMeat 07-28-2004, 03:51 AM duct tape?
NJthunder5spd 07-28-2004, 05:40 AM as much as it works.. its not so appealing to the eye.. lol
but a very good suggestion!
ScottsXBScion 07-28-2004, 06:10 AM id love to invest in one of these braces for my xb let me know when your ready to sell them!

NJthunder5spd 10-24-2004, 06:56 PM ok heres the 3rd brace.. that little one for the center rear.

hotbox05 10-24-2004, 08:59 PM hey on that last brace i had to remove mine cuz my custom exhaust would rarely rub on it so i need one thats like a 1/4 inch lower than the stock one. hmmm....
NJthunder5spd 10-25-2004, 04:15 AM let me see what i can do for u..
uncompiled 10-28-2004, 03:06 PM Gotta love custom work. Now I want one too. :P
