Default Scottsdaletc and Competition Clutch Stage 4 *pics*

Several weeks ago I was in the market for a high quality reliable clutch. I called a good number of friends in the industry for advice. I found myself presented with mixed reviews and recommendations, that is and what I expected. I started doing some research on which clutch company held some impressive competitors in there stable.

After searching a number of racing associations and competitors I found myself at the Competition Clutch web site. Doing some further research I was compelled to picked up the phone and made my inquiry into the SCION TC. I was informed that CC has plans to bring the clutch to market but no hard ETA to the release. To make a long story short, I was instrumental in pointing CC in the right direction which allowed them to bring the SCION tC clutch to market sooner than anticipated.

I would like to thank Competition Clutch and Melissa for there considered effort to bring the clutch to market. This will be a valued addition to the performance market when laying down the higher whp that we are now seeing from the SCION Community.

The Dezod T.E.A. Turbo package combined with the CC clutch will now provide the reliable performance package that I have been working for. Next, the motor!! What surprises do I have in the works!! Only time will tell!!

Several pictures of the clutch and the light weight flywheel are posted. Enjoy!

I'm guessing with a turbo kit dubbed the "Top End Assassin" that daily drivability is no longer a priority.

I was thinking the same thing. Well, if the turbo takes a dump then Kelly will be able to take long left legged strides to get home faster.

Actually, Joe drives it daily and it is VERY nice power delivery. It just enters boost far less than the S1.

As soon as I have it in I will see if I wind up with a Popeye leg. My right foot already clanks on the cement when I walk.

Wouldn't know for sure but I bet the ZPI clutch is spec'd slightly differently.

Hey, question, specifically what made you choose the Competition Clutch over other clutches? I would like to know what you came across in researching this. I've head negatives and poistives about ACT, lukewarms about the Clutch Masters, and not much of Competition Clutch.

I searched online racing organizations and asked those that have used performance clutches. A number of people said X brand was junk and went to another. It turns out that the stages they were using are not the same when they changed. I take that the wrong clutch was used, abused and then failed. Now the manufacture is at fault when the owner made a poor buying decision. The one important factor is to consult with your dealer or directly to the manufactures technical support team and heed the advice for the correct clutch.

Aside picking the correct stage for your needs. I asked the pros and looked across many platforms in the racing industry, what manufactures are being used. Yes these are pro drivers and the clutches are/may not be the same that you or I would need or use. What I am looking for is racing technology that makes winners. This technology bleeds down from the engineering level to the consumer level for street/strip.

We will see, Joe and I will start to visit Firebird raceway for Friday Night drags. They are open every Friday and it is like $20 all night racing. Joe runs the ACT and I will run the CC. Though Joe is up about 50 whp on me I suspect I will be turning the boost up when I get back from SEMA and the new clutch is in.

This is the thread in the desert and salt if you wish to follow.
