View Full Version : Tanabe df210
coasterlvr 09-18-2003, 08:55 PM I just installed my Tanabe df210 springs for my xB. Here are some pictures of the springs and height of the wheel wells after. I just drove it down the block and back so i'm not sure if it will drop some more. About a 2" drop all around.

I have to drive it around still. I'm goin to eat so i'll take it for a spin and take some after shots.
BlueBox 09-18-2003, 09:43 PM if u don't mind... did u order the springs from optauto.com ? and if so, how much did u pay for shipping and how long did it take for delivery?
i know the spring rate is set at 10-15%...which should make the ride a bit more soft...but i'm just worried it might sag after awhile...let me know.

What's up with the lavender springs?
BlueBox 09-18-2003, 11:45 PM i think it's coo color...haha u gotta love the purple /pink...or lavender
eric_m 09-18-2003, 11:48 PM every spring company has their own color. spy are red, tanabe are lavander, HKS are grey or maybe blue, tein are green, intrax is purple, i don't know what color trd is, and eibach is grey too i think.
BlueBox 09-19-2003, 12:12 AM um...TRD springs are white.
coasterlvr 09-19-2003, 12:21 AM Well, I think the ride is great. Seems smoother and tighter than stock. Not so jarring like I think the factory springs are. I haven't driven anything but my own xB so I have nothing to compare it to.
BlueBox 09-19-2003, 12:30 AM post some full view pix of ur dropped xB...want to see the difference...
coasterlvr 09-19-2003, 12:58 AM Here are a couple pics. Not that great cause of the sun.

ScionizeD 09-19-2003, 01:06 AM How much was the tanabe springs? Where did you get them? I just installed my SPY springs but the front is higher than the rear. Do you have the same problem? Anybody? DO you guys think the front springs will settle in or does anybody know?
BlueBox 09-19-2003, 01:17 AM Nice pix...luv the blue..i have the same one with silver 17 rims. did u install the springs urself? the drop looks good...what size rims do u have on them?
it's ironic that everyone (who have replaced the stock springs) have stated that the ride is much smoother and better than stock. So...basically if u replace the springs...u get a nice ride with coo looks. great deal.
Tanabe springs can be purchased on optauto.com and i think it's going for $156...but it's out of stock at this time. I was planning on buying some too...but will have to wait.
as for the offset drop between the front and rear...i guess it's the level of the car...if u look carefully..in the stock settings...the front wheel/fender gap is bigger than the rear. i know that most aftermarket springs lower the car differently (front and rear)...usually the rear is lowered abit more...it's a leveling thing i guess... i haven't seen any springs that lowers the vehicle identically front and rear...usually there's atleast a half inch difference.

DenZinz 10-01-2003, 08:39 PM every spring company has their own color. spy are red, tanabe are lavander, HKS are grey or maybe blue, tein are green, intrax is purple, i don't know what color trd is, and eibach is grey too i think.
In addtion...Eibach Sportlines are (red), B&G (red), Suspension techniques (blue), Sprint (dark blue), Progress (turqouise)...Tanabe also has different colors for different type of springs..i believe their sustec line is orange.
Air-Ric's are black rubber and brushed aluminum.
DenZinz 10-01-2003, 08:40 PM Is that measured from the center of the hub to the fender well or from the ground up?
For better accuracy, its best to measure from the center of the hub. Tire pressure could affect the measurement.
monkeychopkick 10-03-2003, 10:16 AM That is a damn nice drop. Not to low, not too high. I think I will have to look into Tanabe. How is the ride at speed? I do a lot of mountain carving in my box.
