View Full Version : Star Trek
i007spectre 10-19-2006, 12:33 AM Just wondering how many scion driving star trek fans there are out there. Also how long have you been a fan. And what is your favorite series. The 40 anivarsary just passed.
Me I'v been hooked for 10 years. and I love TNG.
IF YOUR GOING TO BASH STAR TREK JUST DONT POST ANYTHING, PLEASE.
watcher1307 10-19-2006, 12:50 AM I've been a fan since I was about five years old. I'm almost 25 now. I used to like next gen, but now I've gotta give it to voyager. It's too bad they're not going to make any more.
original series
next generation
deep space nine
voyager
enterprise
1 motion picture
2 wrath of khan
3 search for spock
4 voyage home
5 final frontier
6 undiscovered country
7 generations
8 first contact
9 insurrection
10 nemesis
It's a shame. No more star trek............5 series and 10 movies.
i never really cought on watching enterprise
watcher1307 10-19-2006, 02:09 AM Neither did I. I don't think many real fans did.
i007spectre 10-20-2006, 11:03 PM watcher, there is a movie planned for 2008. Its being produced by j.j. abrams. Star Trek is just taking a break. It will be back.
watcher1307 10-20-2006, 11:17 PM Great! I was hoping they would continue to make movies. But what about the shows??? I remember seeing a special on star trek, and they said that no more would be made.
Racinkid13 10-20-2006, 11:32 PM I couldnt get into any of the new ones. The movies, yeah, but i gotta give it up to the old series. Sometimes cheesy is the best.
i007spectre 10-21-2006, 01:59 AM You may have seen it but the original series is on again. It is in high-def, with cgi work done on exterior shots.
The channels that carry it varies greatly so you will have to search.
watcher1307 10-21-2006, 02:01 AM I have access to private servers, so I can just download them. I have almost all the star trek episodes ever made. (of tos, tng, and voyager)(the ones I like)
tC4italy 10-21-2006, 02:01 AM Old series mostly. I watch science fiction with my father. The new galattica (sp) tv series is decent.
I loveeeee Spock & Picard.
watcher1307 10-21-2006, 02:07 AM Like with ambassidor spock and picard in unification 1+2, or them individually?
OldYeller 10-21-2006, 02:35 AM I got to see the original when it was original.............
i007spectre 10-21-2006, 02:42 AM tc4italy, I know you from that do you think she's hot post.
I thought the reason I had never had a girlfriend was because I was a huge sci fi geek. You have just given me hope, there is at least one girl out there who likes sci-fi .
watcher1307 10-21-2006, 03:15 AM Yup, she's out there, but how does it feel to know that you'll never get her? j/k
Cravin 10-21-2006, 08:27 AM I will watch any Star trek thats on. I have never been to a Trek convention though..
watcher1307 10-21-2006, 09:22 AM I actually went to one. It was ok. Kinda cheezy though. I went dressed up as myself. hehe.
hunterUnknown 10-21-2006, 03:58 PM i liked TNG and voyager. but enterprise and ds9 i was not a fan of...
hiram 10-21-2006, 04:48 PM i guess im not a die hard fan or anything but i enjoyed all the movies w/ Kirk and TNG.
Frosty355 10-21-2006, 05:01 PM I used to go to the conventions every year. They were a lot of fun! I would rather go to a Star trek con over a Anime con anyday or an RPG con (shudder). I seen a few of the other shows but I seen every one of the original series.
i007spectre 10-22-2006, 12:33 AM Im deciding witch of my 4 star trek uniforms im going to wear for halloween
1. Original series tunic engineer
2. Next generation leutinate commander
3. Voyager captain
4. Nemesis/ insurrection dress uniform commander
tC4italy 10-22-2006, 03:28 AM Like with ambassidor spock and picard in unification 1+2, or them individually?

Rabid_Lemming 10-23-2006, 05:19 PM I'm not a true Trekkie in the sense that I can't name episodes and characters at the drop of a hat. I did however enjoy watching all the series (except Enterprise, never could get into it because they lost a lot of the snazzy stuff). However, I am a firm believer that while Kirk gets the girl, Piccard could kick his a$$
hunterUnknown 10-23-2006, 05:52 PM speaking of picard.

kanundrum 10-23-2006, 05:54 PM Big fan of voyager and the movies, never really got into the older shows like TNG and such. Live Long and prosper :P
i007spectre 10-25-2006, 02:00 AM Two good games out.
First is star trek encounters. Its a arcade shooter type game, where you fly all the greatest ships. PS2
Then their is star trek legacy, comes out early november. Kind of like star trek bridge commander only 500 times better. PC; X360
TeeCizzle 01-28-2007, 11:50 PM The 2008 is gonna be a Pre-quel and The JJ Abrams dude rumored to trying and get that Matt damen to play Kirk and Ben Afflack to play Spock!...WTF???.....Its gonna suk!!!!
Who knows...hope they dont mess it up!!
tC4italy 01-29-2007, 02:51 AM If they will let Ben play Spok I refuse to watch it :nope:
hunterUnknown 01-29-2007, 05:47 AM nah they wouldnt. he's like a death sentence to any movie.
Nick Cage as Kirk and Robert Downey Jr as Spock.

If you like them you should also keep an eye out for this one, when they ever finish it

DragonR 04-23-2007, 02:29 PM I think i like TNG the best... voyager was a nice concept... i think DSN got a little silly toward the end, with sisko being somesort of 'chosen one'... although i loved the large scale war story arc with the jemhadar(sp? x100)...
anyone else hate the fact that as soon as Spock or data really gain their humanity... they lose it and go back to being without feeling?
I loved the 4th movie when they go back in time to get the whales and spock is riding on the bus and learns about cursing.
scionofPCFL 04-23-2007, 03:11 PM I think if anyone could play Kirk, it would be Nick Cage. Only problem is, if you put Nick and Jr. in the same Star Trek movie, they'd spend too much time at the replicator ordering pure Peruvian Flake.
George 10-28-2008, 08:18 PM Despite the fact that most "Real Trek Fans" (tm) dislike Enterprise I actually liked it. Much grittier and "real" because they didn't have to worry about that silly Prime Directive. Unfortunately some of the conflicts (the temporal cold war) were a bit too complex for a lot of viewers to grasp.
Some folks were bugged because the show violated the "canon", but it is very difficult to avoid that completely in any prequel. I did like how they neatly explained how the TOS Klingons turned into the TNG Klingons, and even mixed in Brent Spiner as a really evil character!
DS9? I probably would have gotten into that, but it was too similar to B5. B5 had a better story arc.
MNScion 11-04-2008, 12:44 AM There are girl Star Trek fans! I am older now, but I was a die hard TNG fan when it was on. I even have a cat named Hugh, after the character in "I, Borg".
If I am ever flipping channels, and I run across an episode of TNG I will always watch it, no matter how many times I have seen it!
Never got in to the original series, and didn't have much time for tv when the later series came out. But, I will always and forever be a fan of TNG...
My favorite episodes were "I, Borg" and the one where Data built Lal (not sure the name of the episode, but he created her, and then Starfleet tried to take her away).
Frosty355 11-04-2008, 05:01 PM I met Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh) at a convention once. No one recognized him without the Borg makeup.
Nice guy.
Chrisb319 05-11-2009, 11:55 PM who here saw the movie?
im not a star trek fan at all but i watched in iMax over the weekend. i must say it was a really good movie. i liked it.
Chrisb319 05-14-2009, 06:26 AM I disliked the plot line but thought the movies was great myself.
