Default Are a lot of xB owners former Focus owners?

I've been lurking on this board awhile and it seems like a lot of xB owners were former Ford Focus owners.... or is it just my imagination :?:

Did you get tired of the recalls like me :?:

I only had 2 recalls checked at the same time.
I was concerned with reliability mainly.
Cany go wrong with a Toyota product.
Here is what she was!

That was a Traxxas 4Tec.
I was big into the ground vehicles when I decided not to fly anymore.
I only have one vehicle left. Its my backyard basher.
Its the Traxxas Stampede.
In pretty bad shape. But it still runs good.

I'm a former Focus owner - 2001 ZX3 that I bought in 2000 - I had little faith in this car, even though it hadn't given me any trouble for the last year (which included a cross country trek). In previous years it had let me down a few times - the worst was when the throttle cable broke on a long drive and left me stranded in 20 degree temps on a gray day. Someone - either at the factory or in the Ford dealership garage - had placed 2 ninety-degree bends in the cable! And the dealership gave me a run for my money about the repair and the rental car costs. Ford themselves came through for me, gotta say, but the dealer didn't. There were other problems, too. It also got poor gas-mileage for such a small car. Then, the resale value kept plummeting! Overall, I was disappointed with the Focus. Good points? It handled really well - felt good to drive.

I bought the Focus because I had liked the Festiva I owned back in the late 80's, and thought it might be as fun and efficient.

The xB is awesome! I couldn't be happier.

Yeah I had a focus myself but the reason I had to get rid of it was because I totaled it. I was pushed into a stopped car on the freeway while I was going about 65. Let's just put it this way, my headlights were in the windshield.

Actually a large majority of the owners here are tuner/muscle car owners. Funny, we go from our 300+hp cars to a 108 hp car.

And some of us went from 500+hp cars to an xB.

Actually, I'm at the age where it's more impressive to get 35+mpg than race around town getting in trouble. Not to mention, about 10mpg at that speed.

I to was a Focus owner, however it sat in the garage 90% of the time because of the lack of space inside and the crappy ride with lowering springs and 18's (my own fault I know). It was a cool car but I really enjoy the Xb much more.

I had a mostly (14 second 1/4s) stock 94 Mustang GT Convertible that I sold a few weeks ago and ordered my xB the next day. People have asked me if I hit my head. I am going to miss being one of the faster cars on the road -- mostly miss stomping all the rice that harrased me when I drove it on the weekends. I liked the Focus and was considering it but I wasn't going to trade the mustang in for a focus - the xB is just very cool and hopefully it will say unique.

Yes, Im am as well a former Ford Focus SE owner ( hints the username). Mine was preety nice- It had all the bells and wistles- but was still a hunk of junk. the suspension creaked, the PS leaked-so did the oil. The recalls built up monthly, the fuel economy sucked for a 110 HP motor (25 MPG.) It only was a single cam, with 8 valves- very unrefined!

Like with any car- it has its ups and downs. I will say this - the Focus handles like its on rails. I could push my Focus around turns that would make my xB cringe.

Reliability and resale- NO THANKS. They are giveing away 2005 Focus with a 3 k rebate- I could have goat a fully loaded one for what i bought my xB for-

Alls, I have to say is BEEN THIER- Done that.
The 2005 focus is the same hunk of junk with a facelift!

I was going to buy a focus (or Tc), actually ordered it, didn't like the leather seats, and ended up buying my Xb. There definitely is a connection

I had a focus too. It was the zx3 on stick. I got to say that it never gave me any problems other then a recall on the fuel pump. The only reason why I dont' have it anymore is because it got stolen back in late december. Now since I am in the car shopping scene I set my mind on teh Tc.

Well I had a 2000 ZX3, then a 1986 SVO. Wanted something reliable so I ditched the SVO for the Toaster.

I loved the looks of the ZX3 when I first saw it in Europe. The unique styling and whatnot attracted me to the car. Perhaps the same thing is what attracted me to the xB.

i traded in my 00 focus zx3 for my xb for 2 reasons....i never felt that it was a reliable car (had it towed twice) and i got sick of driving a stick and got an auto xb. I owned the car for about a year.

also two weeks before getting my xb i got rid of my 300hp firebird......so i fell in both categories, i owned a focus and a muscle car. Both cars gave me way too many problems and i couldnt be happier with the xb.
