I dont let others work on my cars unless it is warranty related. So no.

And the list of things they are supposed to do is filled with things that do not pertain to our car.. and most of it can be done in less than an hour... for about $300 at the dealer. No thanks.

I didnt think they could do much on only 30,000 miles. I have an extended warranty, so i may go do the check-up just so they cant say I was Negligent or something, and cancel my warranty.

there's a small checkup and a bigger one...I did the smaller one just so my warranty stayed in tact.

Your warranty is in tact no matter what. They cannot refuse you warranty service just because you did not pay them to do maintenance. If they can prove a particular issue occurred because of lack of maintenance, then they can refuse warranty for that one thing.

You're right. The 30k is mainly motor maintenance and that's what I'm mainly worried about. I don't have the time to go to court if anything happens and they don't want to cover it. I just did the maintenance with them so they can't say anything when I go back with warranty issues. It just makes it easier if anything happens.

What motor maintenance? Air filter? The tC doesn't need any motor maintenance. Not like an old british car that needs the valve lash adjusted every 2000 miles, and the head retorqued every 10,000.

what I meant was anything they had to do with the transmission or the engine. Since I had the cai they didn't do the air filter but they deducted the price.

Replace spark plugs
Tighten drive shaft bolt
Transmission sevice

Transmission service at 30k is checking the fluid level. It is a good idea to do more but I would almost bet that they did not do that. What did they list they did for transmission service?

Replace spark plugs does not apply, we have iridium plugs with a service interval of about 120k

imo, the 30k service is way over priced at the dealer. i would do it myself... air filter, oil change, tire rotation could all be done on your own for much less... the 30k is not a major service for tC's.

No way I went in for that.

Learn how to change your own oil and rotate your tires yourself and you'll save yourself from dealer rape.

I'll check the invoice and get back to you on that.

All I'm saying is, I don't want even the smallest hassle incase ANYTHING were to happen. I don't have the time to get off work and/or find a lawyer if the dealership decides, "umm...you didn't do this so it's not under warranty" because we all know the crap they try on us...
