Does anyone have any ideas how to get the horn to honk when locking or unlocking the doors with the stock keyless entry? It is nice to have an audible chirp so you know that the doors have locked without having to look at the car.

The only way to make it chirp would be to push the red button. Unless you have the full blown scion security upgrade it'll be silent for convenience. When you get the full system, it comes with an instruction manual that tells you how to program your alarm to chirp at your will. I hope this helps.

I have tc repair manual and have been studying the wiring diagram for the keyless entry. I am trying to figure out a way to do it with the stock keyless entry. I dont think it should be that hard. I havent tested yet but I believe our horns are negatively triggered can anyone confirm this?

I have looked at the diagram also. I would seem you just need to wire the Horn relay to the lights that flash. It appears to me that it is positively triggered. Any idea what is the trigger to turn the transistor on to ground the horn?

I went down to look at it right now and I have all the wiring for a alarm I still have the pin connectors and everything. It looks a lil more confusing than the tacoma setup to be honest I am not really sure which one to pull.

I have some going to the ignition, then some to the harness, some to the fuse block, it is odvious by the poor splicing job that alot of this is not factory kinda wierd its like the car had scion security but then it was ripped out even though its not on my window sticker.

that little chirping thing is annoying as hell on other cars im was sooo happy when i found out that the xb doesnt do that. you try sneaking out only to be caught by a freakin horn!

The factory scion alarm upgrade option does not chirp when you arm/disarm the alarm. It is just a glass sensor add-on. In my opinion, it was really a ripoff and $469 can honestly get you a really nice alarm setup. At about $400, I could've done a full alarm system with roll up/down windows, sunroof, pager....dang, oh well.

The Scion Security upgrade is fully programmable by performing a series of actions inside of your car. I.E. opening and closing the driver's side door multiple times and inserting the key in the ignition a certain way. I'm sure getting the alarm to chirp when activated is just going to be a matter of finding out who knows the right combination to program it. Can anyone help?!

If you read the manual, it gives a procedure on setting the alarm to passive or active and the timing of the passive arming. All this does is enable the alarm/immobilizer after 0/15/30 seconds. It doesn't even lock the doors. I've tried that funky procedure and it was easy to figure out, funny as hell to actually open/close the door 3 times, then lock/unlock, then all that stuff, Yikes!

what would be even cooler is if the tC had the little beep that other toyotas have when you engage the alarm. I always loved that, and I was hoping that Scion would use the same alarm.

im happy it doesnt make a noise. i really dont like announcing to the world that i just locked or unlocked my car. a simple flash of the hazzard lights and a bearly audible click is all i need.

np, you're cool....you didn't make fun of another blind person, just your own blindness which i think is copacetic. now had you said "my brother is blind; he had to figure out how to make his car chirp a different chirp than other cars' chirps because he'd often wander to the wrong car and break in...."...now THAT would be testing fate.

jk....no blind brothers were intended to be teased in the aforementioned post in case god has an even SICKER sense of humor than i do and wants me to wander around in the dark for making that joke.

No it doesnt. This was brought up by someone else on here, but after they posted pics of the system it is absolutely NOT a scion security system. No way I know of (thank god IMO) to make it honk without creating some add on.

I have every manual and peice of paper (including the one for the alarm ) that came with the car and it mentions it nowhere. Unless they changed something since mine came out in 04 I know of no way to change it.
