So we all get in on Thursday, and no events are planned. Any ideas?

We are right in the mix of things as far as clubs go, and South Beach Miami has some of the best. Personally, that ain't my thing. What are your thoughts?

 

Unless I have someone (older, boring like me) to tag along with and they have any better ideas, I'd like to just go eat at one of the many great restaurants they're supposedly known for and then perhaps go frolick on the beach in the dark for a bit before going to bed. I highly doubt I'll be doing any clubbing.

 

I'm not really a clubbing person either....but I guess it all depends on what time they're getting us out there anyway....the earlier the better is the way I see it

 

is the tattoo shop where miami ink is filmed near this area? if so i would like to go check it out take some pics with the artist and see whats up there... anybody know if its close or not?

 

I just looked http://maps.citysearch.com/location/41848358 and it looks as though it's only a mere 3-4 blocks away from where we'll be staying. Very much walking distance!

i'm up for eating drinking clubbin all of it but one thing be careful where you eat we spent 90 on lunch at a place on south beach then spent the same amount another day at the bar at monty's and got way more food and drink for the money. and if your a guy you probably won't get in to some of the clubs without waiting a long time it helps to have a female with you and/or slip a twenty....but thats not every where. the lowes has a martini bar and ocean drive is right there with some cool spots mansion is close and off the chain its insane by far the one of the best clubs i've been to!!!! if you like seafood there's plenty to choose from and cuban sandwiches em good!!!!

 

I have off work all Thursday, so Im looking forward to spending the whole day checking out the place.

 

From what Darren had said previously, I don't think we're going to get out there too early....but I guess we'll just have to wait and see

 

yeah doesnt sound like we will be there till evening time... so that really shuts out things unless you go to a bar or club... anybody know what time the miami ink shop is open from? i would like to check it out but maybe not that night depending what time they close and what time we get there... but i think friday we have till the middle of the afternoon to roam around dont we? or am i mistaken and if you dont xtend your stay then you leave saturday morning or saturday afternoon correct ? if so that means we really dont have time to roam around ..?

 

the VIP event doesn't start until 7pm...if you get up early on Friday you'd have a whole day to do whatever....

 

Has anyone priced out another night in the hotel? Im sure Scion put us all in Presidential Suites =) (jk) Either way the hotel looks incredible!

 

what do you plan on doing xobxpleasuresox? is there any thing near there to go check out or anything to go do around there? do you plan to xtend your stay?

 

I did....to stay an extra night at the Loewe's is an extra $339 for Saturday night.....so instead, i'm staying at the Eden Roc...which is on the same road as the one Scion put us up in but not as awesome.....Eden Roc is a Renaissance resort and spa....$150 for the nite....

Me? I have NO idea....i guess it all depends on what time we actually get in to the area, and I've never been there before so I guess i'll just have to wait and see....and yea...i plan to stay until Sunday....Saturday's my 24th bday so I don't want to spend it in the airport, and thanx to Scion....i'll already be in Miami

 

To all of you talking about checking out MIAMI INK:

Unless you'd like to go into an average, run of the mill tattoo shop with a bunch of artists that none of you have heard of - Dont bother to go.

They only film that show for 6-8 weeks a year. Kat Von D does not live in Miami. Chris Garver does not live in Miami and neither does Brass. They go down for a period each season to film and then pack up and go. It might be "reality" TV but its far from it.

I can also lend this- my best friend just got married and went through Miami on his way to his honeymoon. They stopped in and there was no one there other than some no name artists.

Im not into clubs unless there is punk/hardcore/metal type music involved which I doubt Miami has much of. I wouldnt mind finding a decent bar or place to hang out.

 

BrianxB, thanks for the info. I still would like to see the shop... it's only a short walk away from where we'll be and I can rub it in to my husband, everytime the show is on, that I was there, lol.

Anyone want to make a trek to Abbey Brewery with me? Only 8 blocks from the hotel. I love going to breweries. I went to the Waimea Brewery while in Hawaii, which is the Westernmost brewery in the US. This is a good marker for the East coast and then I can work on filling in the middle!!!

I tend to agree with this too. maybe someone worth seeing is playing around miami. Otherwise any old bar will do. I am not into waiting in line to drink over priced beer.

 

I am always down for a good brewery.
