Yes--there is quite a bit of gas left in the tank when the low fuel light comes on. I have only put 11 gallons in the tank once I believe.

from what I've been able to tell...once my gas light comes on I have almost 2 gallons of fuel left......I always think that I can go AT LEAST 50 miles more once I notice the light..

when I changed the face color on my speedo, I ran my tank down to nothing, reset the fuel needle so that it registered lust under the empty mark. ran over the the gas station and filled up... 11.7 gallons (close call)

but now, I know that I am toast when the needle gets to the final mark on E

Wish I had seen this yesterday! I went in for my first fill up last night after the light came on. I went straight to the closest station and it took a whopping 10.3 gallons.

yup, i bet the station equipment was off... I do some work for a company that sells fuel management solutions for railroad and large trucking companies. It's essentially a handheld device that can be pointed at a tank, and it will tell you how much liquid is inside. They did a demo at gas stations once, and found that over 30% of the meters were off. I know that sounds like a stretch, because they are regulated so closely, but it's the truth.

Like everyone said already, 11.9 gallons AND IT IS IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL...

The low fuel light comes on - and stays on - at between 2 and 2.5 gallons.
