Default 50mph + Front Bumper + Possum =

A smashed front bumper! Guys...The plastic on our front bumper is so thin that it's not even funny. When I hit the possum, I heard a clipping sound and it really didn't sound too bad. When I got to the store and looked at my car, the whole right-front was broken up and the lower grille was popped in. Unbelievable! I just got my rear bumper fixed from a hit and run too...

Any idea on what a new front bumper runs, paint and all? I'm hoping it's less than $500 (my deductible) because I don't really want this on the VIN record. Since I've got to take it in, this'll at least be a good chance to get a couple other small dings taken care of.

oem bumper runs 479$ on ebay then shipping and paint you're well over 500$ man :/. The EXACT same thing happened to me except no cracked lip. My TC is lowered on h-tech's and I hit a racoon going about 60 mph and it pushed the entire bottom grill out and destroyed a piece of my splash guard. The lip is ok except the clear is cracking on it a little bit.

Okay, I just got off the phone with the local Toyota dealership and a front bumper runs $224.76. I'm sure paint will probably be another $200 and labor another...??

Don't have them put the bumper on. Do it yourself. There are enough how-to's on this site. Just look for the one regarding headlight replacement. It shows you how to take off/put on a bumper.

I was actually thinking that it might be body kit time, but I really haven't seen a kit I'm 100% thrilled with. I have seen a couple lip kits I really like though. Hm...

It isnt that it is that thin.. it is comparable to most other cars like it. It took a hard hit at 50mph!

$226 for the front bumper (its actually the bumper cover by the way)??? The rear bumper cover for mine was almost $500 without paint or labor when someone rear ended me. Of course that was in 04.

Man...you guys are slowly convincing me haha. What are some of your favorite kits out there right now? I kind of have my eye on the Drifter 2 kit. I also like the Buddy Club kit but I've heard fitment on it's a nightmare.

F that possum, i praise you for killing it!
A month ago I had a possum that kept coming and tearing up the front landscaping. I shot at it twice when I was drunk, but never killed it, i think a dog got it tho.

yeah i did the same thing, i hit 2 dips in the road at a streetlight goin about 50, tryin to beat the red. ended up running the red light and giving the onlookers a show of sparks and noises. front bumper got almost torn off, pull hooks bent out of shape, and TRD exhaust got flattened.

Well, so much for the body kit idea...For now at least. I went to the Toyota Collision center Saturday morning and the estimate was $1870.00!! That little s.o.b. possum bent the A/C condenser cross member, bent the A/C condenser itself, and rumpled up the right-hand side under cover. Looks like I'm out $500.00 but at least I'll be getting everything fixed. I also got them to "throw in" covering the dent in my gas cover.

I'm thinking maybe a lip kit in the future instead. Still haven't quite seen any body kits that blow me away.
