Not to sound like a noob, but what does Plug n Play Mean?

What does it mean, I hear it said alot on the forums...?

To me it means plug in the cigarette lighter and it works...?

not just cig lighter... anything... plug it in.. it works...

hmm.. i.e. plug and play radio? hmm.. unplug old one... plug in new one.. (no extra hassle of wiring)....

and i.e. for computers.. plug the new thingy in.. no need to install anything crazy..
