there are 2 lines that go from the engine bay to the front left wheel assembly. one is the brake line and the other has to do with the traction control/abs stuff i think. not the brake line but the other one got caught on sumthing and shredded the line. i soon lost brake fluid and now i have no brakes at all. ive got the part off and i went to the dealership to get it replaced-$250. i cant get it fixed under warranty as ive voided that with the suspension mods. i cant drive it nor do i have AAA for a tow. can some1 help me get the part or have any other ideas for me?

Did you modify the brakes? They have to prove that what you did caused the failure. If you drove over it and ripped something off perhaps that is just act of god, I don't know.

Are you sure there are 2 lines? Going to each wheel is a brake line than a wire inside of sort of a thick rubber tube which is the wheel sensor for the ABS/Traction control.

If you ripped apart a rubber brake line just get a new line and bleed the brakes. If you ripped your wheel sensor wire the connector is right above where it enters into the fender well.

yah its not the brake line for sure, its the traction line, the one that has the wires running through it. but i lost brake fluid when it broke and now i have no brakes either. yah im on bags and the wire must have got caught on something and snagged it. any ideas?

Sounds like you definitely need a new Wheel Sensor and I guess a brake line. Even with little mechanical knowledge those things shouldn't be too hard to replace...

Brake like is probably held on with a 12mm bolt to the caliper and I think another 12 where you unscrew it from the hardline and you would need some pliars to undo the clip that holds the line to the body.

For the wheel sensor one 10mm bolt holds in it and just follow the wire up into the fender (there is a boot where it goes into the fender) pull that off and look for the connector.

If you want to do this yourself and want me to get you the Toyota factory manual instructions I can get you those in .PDF format.

yah the instructions would be awesome. but heres the thing. i definetley need a new traction line but all my brake lines look fine. thats why im so confused as to why i dont have any brakes. the traction line does plug a hole in the wheel assembly where i can see gears and stuff when i pulled the line out. but would that line getting shredded, make my brakes go out?

You must have something mechanically wrong with the brakes if you have no brakes. No sensors or electronics can cause the brakes to fail. The gear you see when you look in the hole is the abs ring, the sensor can sense the surface of that ring and that is how it knows if it is moving or not. If its not moving than the wheel is locked up.

Apparently the connector for the sensor can be found by just tracing the wire up ward, its under the hood. The instructions don't tell you anything you can't figure out by just looking at it. I thought they would be more helpful but not really.

are the lines placed in the same places with the suspension mods? where they even touched while you had your mods in.
your dealer can't deny warranty if it had nothing to do with your mods. thats like dealer denying your emissions warranty because you have an aftermarket coffee can put on your car. its just idiotic on their part

Why should they replace it under warranty? Theres breakline holders on the stock struts, which you dont have. Your wheel and or axle hit this line, breaking it. You also broke the speed sensor when you did this. This is the kind of stuff you have to be careful of when modifying your car in vital areas.

Could I get those also? I'm having problems with the TCS sensor and it not wanting to accept my hotchkis sway bar. I took it out and put the stock one back in, and no more problems. I have a thread in cornaer carvers called "Swaybar install question" if you want all the details.

Any help with is appreciated if you still have those pdf's
