You could just get bB projector headlights and paint the non-essential reflectors inside black.

Or you could just take the stock headlights apart and do something like this:

http://www.impression-cba.com/my_bb/process2.htm (note that the USDM headlights don't have the diffusers on the lens, so it'll look cleaner and more BMW-esque. Trust me, I did it.)

I tried use Babble Fish to translate that, did really make much sense, think you could give us a heads up of how it's done. Maybe some pics too :)

Please, for the love of god, don't put BMW lights on your xB. There are few things that you can do that are more tacky than this kind of cross-breeding of cars. Just look at all those Civics with Benz conversions. *shudder*.

i think you got it all wrong. i'm not cross breeding cars. i'm jus taking the projector not the entire light. the idea has been officially scrapped though.

steve

Step 1: Remove tail light.
Step 2: Remove tail light bulb holders and bulbs.
Step 3: Pull off the white plastic strip on the back of the tail light (this is obvious if you have the tail light off)
Step 4: Heat up your oven to 250 degrees, place light in for five minutes.
Step 5: Open heated tail light by gently prying from the curved outside edge with a flat head screwdriver, then work around the edges and take the lens off.
Step 6: Paint your desired sections black with testors model paint for plastic.
Step 7: Reassemble tail light, replace on car.

thanks for the instructions. your light didn't melt at all from throwing it in there without covering it at 250 degrees?

I presonally think it'd look cool. If I could find a set of cheap stock headlights for the xB (to mod) I would totally do it. Anyone out there want to sell their stockers for me to mod?

Nah, they don't melt when you put them in the oven. I opened them up and closed them about 5 times because I couldn't make up my mind, they just get a little bit hot.
