Hey, I'm waiting on my new tC. The dealer said likely Thursday or Friday. However, we've got a cold-snap coming and I'd like to get started on a sub box now if I can while its still warm enough to feel the tips of my fingers. :D

I'm looking for:

1. Height from hatch floor to deck cover.
2. Depth from trunk to back of seats.
3. Width near seats.
4. Minimum available width.
I know the hatch area is far from square, but then again, I'm not looking to use the whole space.

And yes, I did try to search. Everybody and their cousin has the spec for the total cubic volume, but that's not going to help me much. Thanks guys!

1. I think it's 14.5
2. Something like 30" total
3. Something like 40" or so
4. Minimum available?

Thx. That's probably enough for me to start the "napkin engineering". But if someone has exacts, I won't turn them down. :D
#4 means "the narrowest part". I'm only installing a pair of 8s, so I know I'm not going to use the whole space up. I'm just looking at shapes that will leave me a bit of room, be least likely to slide around when I corner and easily attached to the tie-downs for some small amount of physical theft security. I was most interested in the available height.

oh, narrowest is right between the seats, the 40" or so :)

Fine, I'll go measure teh stock one here.

36" between strut towers

42" between wheel wells(about 4" away from the seat)

13.5" tall.

24" deep otherwise you'll scratch the top piece.

Angle on the seat is 70.9 degrees.

Depth from tire well cover to bottom of floor is 4.5" not counting the extra inch where the tire rests.

It's also 45 degrees in the fully-reclined position, isn't it?

Just curious, are you gonna seal your 2 8"s or port them? If youre just gonna seal the box i would go with 2 10"s. Its not that much more space that you lose, although its just my input :P. I went with 2 10's sealed and with my box i attached "clips" that clip into the silver cargo rings and the other end into the box so it cant move. Good luck :)
