tranny
Well, you would never realize ANY gas savings in the long run. The cost of the tranny and getting it in the car would more than negate that over a normal car life. I honestly have never consdered if it will fit in our chasis, so I cant say how much work it would take. And I would guess a little more "oomph" but not NEAR enough to really be worth it.

if it was possible or practical.. i think someone would've done it already...
so since i don't know of anyone who's done it...
logic says no... but more because it's not practical as dave pointed out.
but i'm gonna say... with enough money... anything's possible.

I doubt it will handle much more power.. it is being used on a similar platform now. Top speed could possibly go up without the limiter.. but it is ridiculous to worry about that unless you are running a large road course. You wont hit the current limit on the tC in a quarter mile without a LOT of work and someone would be an @$$ To worry about it on the street.
I have no idea what the ratios in this tranny are, so they may have just tightened up the lower gears on the auto.. meaning the top gear will yeild the same speed. Again.. I dont see any real benefit in doing this other than fun if you dont mind spending a lot of money just for a fun project.
