Default Appearance or Performance?

I have 1000 dollars that I can spend
Should I go for appearance or performance?
I am thinking if I should get chip (I didn't really do much research yet. I saw somewhere that uni chip is available for tC.)
Probably can get mid-pipe as well with chip
But how much is it going to increase? I would not feel much difference in my opinion..
just to let you know, i have intake and exhaust
Should I get suspension? I am thinking of coilover. it would look good if it is lowered and handling would be great.
Another option is that i can get TRD spring without changing strut and get a lip kit for appearance..
I don't know which one I should get...
spending 1000 to just low the car might not change much.
please help me on my decision

thanks guys!

If you want apperance, go for the TRD Lip Kit, i did and it sets the car off very very nicely:

If you want performance, go with I/H/E + springs and PLZ for the love of gravy get a resonator too.

thank u guys for your opinions.
the thing is that i dont just wanna get springs, i wanna do it right. but if i get trd springs, since its not too stiff, i might just get springs only and i probably can get away from getting struts. I would like to spend it on exterior first than interior. I agree that TRD lip kit looks nice but I want something different!

you left out ice, anyway, what fun is a car thats all show and no go? of al the upgrades on my tc, the single best part is the exhaust note from start to finish, it is a soundtrack i never get tired of.

I'ld do some appearance, but mostly performance. Appearance draws negative attention very easily. Someone can easily jack your body kit...but they're not gonna jack your exhaust. Same goes for most cosmetic things...unless you did something like upholestry

Appearance and save up for a sportbike. You'll never care how fast your car is again.

i am thinking if i should get this

Tein basic coilovers

https://www.scionlife.com/parts/?part=10112

it cost about the same price for springs+strut

then i can add extra $ a little bit and get a lip kit

i am thinking about this.

i personally don't get the point of the lip kit, it just adds weight and decreases approach and departure angles for speed bumps and approaches. and if you worry about getting keyed or a love tap in a parking lot, getting your ground fx hit is 1 million times worse, i've see poor tc's with ruined bumpers and ground fx, looks disgusting.
my mom had a 96 camaro rs with the stupidest ground fx, they scraped and broke and got messed up everytime you pulled into a gas station or anyplace with a steep entry/exit ramp.
a real body kit that has aerodynamic benefits and such is worth it, but a ground fx...i don't know seems too superficial to be worth it in my opinion.

you really think body kits help aerodynamics eh?

lip kits aren't as pronounced as ful body kits. they're more subtle and clean than their in your face body kit counter parts

whatever floats your boat

not all body kits inprobe aerodynamics, (remember when spoilers were supposed to help the improve traction to the rear tires before they became a complete fashion statement?)but they can help. watching a dvd about drifting, the guy explained that he chose his body kit for his 240 sx because of its wide air inlets up front because when the car is sliding sideways, it can be hard for the engine to breath. also, if you have a body kit with a good front spoiler to increase downforce the car will be more stable at higher speeds, but then it is harder to accelerate against the wind.
for instance, car and driver compared the pontiac soltice gxp to a porsche boxster, they are very even in acceleration numbers until they get to the higher 100 plus speeds where drag becomes a major factor, the porsche with its better aerdynamics started pulling away from the pontiac as they claim.

i dont really like lip kits but this one looks clean and probably cheaper than whole bodykit.
i want a little bit more agressive looking on the front.

i know... but how often are you going 100+ is what i'm getting at. you get a lip kit/ body kit becuase you like what it does to the lines of the car, not for purpose (for 95% of the cars out there anyways)

Aerodynamics start mattering once you're going 60 mph. That lip kit is $800 on their site...

i just posted on another thread about how dressing up the outside can make your car look like a good theft target. steal a stock tc looking tc, or steal one with rims and body kit and who knows whatelse they might have put underneath that would be worth tearing out and selling on ebay?
like beautiful import model courtney day, spent her money on flashy stuff for mitsu eclipse, but it got stolen and they took her rims, and audio stuff and so on. probably because it looked so tempting...sob...why do bad things happen to such beautiful people?

i should have gotten the trd lip kit for my tc. it has a timeless look to it. most bodykits goes out of style with time. remember the buddy club kit? it used to be the doo-doo, now it just looks like it. i still like my touring kit for now but in the future i might switch back to the factory lip kit.
