Default HELP... Tsi Turbo, 320cc, perrinn rail, e-manage=putt Bla

Hey all, I've been reading for almost a year now and must say thank you to everyone for their input. But here is my issue, I have installed the TSI extreme kit and upgraded the fuel ( injecters+rail), also installed the emanage system and I can't get this car to go to save my life. It is a daily driver and I was able to adjust the emanage enough to be able to drive, just not well. Is there anyone here that might have the same type of setup that would be able to share their settings in emanage? I've been to 3 differant tune shops in St. Louis and none of them can get it to run... works till CEL comes on. And if we tune it with the light on it runs, but not nearly as well as it did without the turbo! Please looking for any suggestions... BTW it is an 06 Xb. Thanks!

This is mainly just a bump for you but that is one of the issues with our ECU's. They are always learning and it makes it extremely difficult to go forced induction.

The only thing I have heard that works is a stand alone fuel management system, but I am by no means a FI expert.

That's what I've read people talking about... there was something about our computers only being able to lean it out like 45%? If that's the case then should I try tuning factoring that percentage into the map?

Thanks for the intrest... When first taking off I have to get to 3k rpm before leting out the clutch, otherwise it just bogs down and back fires. And once I get it going I can only apply about 20 to 30 percent throttle or once again it will just bog down. Now on the highway it runs alright between 60-80, though I do have to give gas, take away gas, wait a few seconds till I slow down then give it more gas till back up to 80 and then slow back down, etc... thanks again.

Do you have a Wideband? If you do what AFR's are you running at idel, WOT, partial throttle? Do you have the injector harness for the Emanage? If so do you have the Emanage set for the bigger injectors?

Yeah, umm, I don't have either... oops. I'll pickup a wideband gauge tuesday and see what's up. Think I need the injector harness, if so I'll find one of those as well...

Yes for both items... Those two things will help get you heading in the right direction to a smooth running car.

Side pillar ( boost, volt, vac) I have 3 more gauges that came with the kit, but they are all temp. ( water, oil, air?) I didn't feel like cutting out the dash for those, but I will find a nice place for the AFR. Check out my pics, I'll update them soon...

Well if you have a aftermarket radio and feel like relocating it to the pocket underneath the climate controls I can send you a 3 gauge holder.. That I custom made.. you would just need to pay for shipping.. Here is a couple of pics of it. Just figured I offer it up to you..

Sold!!! That's great... saves me from miss-drilling the dash. And it gives me a reason to radio down below ( been looking for one, but didn't want one of those 7" screens next to the others, too expensive). Shoot me an email and I'll get with you.

I'm no expert either, but this sounds a little like an issue someone in my car club had. I believe his problem was injector related. There is an o-ring or something on the injector you have to transfer to the new injector otherwise you don't get a properly tight fit. His ran, but ran horribly until they fixed that. He might be able to give you more details. His alias on here is rabidlemming. He's got a tC, but like I said, the problem sounds similar.

Good luck!

Please post if you find any STL tuners that can tune/diagnose forced induction well.

Any other boosted xBs in STL?

Thanks for the heads up I did read about that at some point and was sure to transfer those, but I will get out there today to check that the injectors are seated properly.

STLBOX: I think I may have found someone near st. louis ( Wentzville) that does nothing but tune toyota...aka scion... engines! I am going out there wednesday am, I'll let you know if he's any good. Adrenaline will also work on our cars, but I've seen too many cars that go in and don't drive back out from that shop...[/quote]

Check if you are leaking fuel on the valve cover or intake manifold... that will tell you if you have a bad ring or if the injectors are not seated properly.. This could be part of the problem... maybe not the whole problem... but most issues have multiple problems that occur.
