Um.

That is a conversion from a third party, and NOT what is coming from the factory.

Oh Oh I want one right now... NOT!!!

The Scion will cost you around $15,000, and the EV conversion will add $55,000 on top plus tax and stuff.

That's awesome. I wouldn't mind the 0-60 in under 7 seconds. It uses the same engine(if you wanna call it that lol) as this thing which is based off of the Lotus Elise: http://www.teslamotors.com/index.php?js_enabled=1

Electric cars are supposed to save you money, hybrids have a mark up on them and it takes a considerable amount of time to make up for it in the gas savings, I can't ever see making up for the gas savings with a 70K xB... go figure????

They can do it much cheaper than that. Toyota is saying they will have a hybrid option for all cars by 2010.

you have to admit...if they could make a box gas/electric...and keep it under 20k....that would be pretty sweet.

i was thinking about it the other day. i'd love to have an electric xB. tax break....AMAZING gas mileage...and still be able to mod the crap out of it minus the engine....

Where did I leave that extra 55K laying around? Damn, I can't remember. I guess that means I won't be getting and eBox!

And in due time all of their vehicles will be hybrids that roll off the line. The camry has a due year already for that to happen.

The future is upon us, and American automakers are being left in the dust.

Want to end conflicts in the middle east? Start limiting your oil usage, strip the only source of power they have against other nations. With nobody to buy oil, their money disappears.

An xB with stock Previa running gear would be a blast, but an all electric at a ridiculous price? I think not.
