i got 4 new tires at the local tire store the other day...
i went to pick it up and was informed that they couldn't do the alignment.

their reasoning was the rear wheels were out of alignment and there's no adjustment for them to make a rear alignment, therefore they couldn't align the front tires.....

they gave me a print out and told me to go to the dealer....

has anyone ever heard of this situation..... why wouldn't our cars be able to have all 4 wheels aligned??

We have an I-Beam and the only thing that can be adjusted is the camber, which requires shims to adjust.

so basically the place i went to didn't have the proper type of equipment to adjust the alignment?

I just had mine done for $80 - all within OEM spec - honestly they can't do anything to the camber and if your lowered a lot, you'll have camber issues. I'd call around and see what the dealers say.

I was willing to pay $20 because a master mechanic installed my wheels/tires and did the alignment.

i am completely stock.... no lowering.
stock wheels, just new tires .... after the dealer failed to rotate my tires w/out me knowing (you figure when you ask them to do it, you'd expect them too right?) ... 35k miles later I NEED NEW TIRES!

sucks... cause i might be selling the ol' box!

Not true,you can also adjust rear toe with an adjustable 2-piece shim. Specialty Products part # 75800

you need to find someone who knows what theyre doing. The two places you have visited have proven themselves incompetent.

THe dealership told me that the rear wheels twist a little bit, and they even showed me on the alignment sheet. When they rack the car, they backed mine up slightly, and the toe went way out of spec. The alignment tech said it goes right back to spec after they move it again, but most of the time when they align something with a beam axle, the toe is off.

Check your brakes, check your air pressure in your tires. There are other reasons why your car might pull.

brand new tires shouldn't have anything to do w/ air pressue.... unless someone didn't fill them up correctly.... which i hope wasn't the case.
wife thinks the car drives fine, but i still notice it.

i guess the the pull to the left has gone away a lil' bit... but still somewhat noticable.. not that anyone cares anymore. but since i MIGHT be selling the box... does anyone want my old collection of matchbox/die cast/remote control xBs?? haha
