slopes have both now a days... ski or snow board would be your choice. they have ski boards to.. shorter than usual ski's they are really cool.. its a lot easier to ski with in some parts of the mountain.. i raced for 4 years down hill on the giant and regulare slalom. haha its funny sometimes when i fall the ski's dont let go... b.c. i have them set up for racing.. no broken bones to this date though...

if anyone needs an extra ski jacket and or ski poles i have them both.. i have extra gear as well hats, snow pants, gloves. and most important of all helmet.. it may sound silly but its a good idea.

I'm all in to go with my K2's baby! We just need some snow!

I'm in. We gonna plan on a few day trips this season? I know it is a ways up, but I love Waterville Valley. They have one of the best adapted ski programs around

i personally like mount sunapee. only 90 minutes away and it is pretty good in size as well.

Hey this is when the members with xB's come in and handle things.

i think we have more room in our tCs.

I guess I'll be in on this, but I'll have no gear at all, and if it's on a Saturday, I'd need to switch shifts.

Never skied, never snowboarded. I've only gone ice skating, and I haven't done that in years.

We should go on a weekend when monday is a holiday. You know along weekend, so we can have more time to ski and have fun.

i think we have more room in our tCs. for skiis maybe.. i am not so sure about gear... maybe i over pack? haha.. im not about to get one of those roof racks. i like my ski's inside where i know they wont fall out or off. also dashon holidays maybe a lot more fun.. but the slopes are usually packed more than usual. but its always worth a try. Christmas is usually the busiest time of the year to go there.. but if we get about 20 people to go there is a very good chance at almost all mountains that we can get a really good discount on lift tickets. Also mobile like they do every year has a thing where you fill up five times and get a free lift ticket... shhhh i have a friend who maybe able to get us the free lift tickets who works at mobile. I will talk to him later today on the way home from work.

yeah, i think sunapee would be good. i heard it was a nice mountain for beginners too, so that would be better. and the cottage thing, would definitely be a plus if we can get 10 or more people to go, so we can chip in. plus having our own place is nice.

I have been looking around myself.. any mountains u still need researched let me know.. i have skied almost all of them. I was looking at killington.. if we can get 20 people or more if possible we can save up to 45% off on tickets.

When i go back out on tour i am going to grab and handful probly 20 resorts that are local. I will drop them off with some one who can get them to you.. or maybe we can meet some where so we can figure out where a cool place to ski and snowboard would be. also i am not sure if people are intrested in stowe mountain at all. but i believe i still have a time share up there.. it maybe possible if my parents do not rent it out, for a couple people to stay there. i will have to double check.

Jan 27th is on a Sat and looks like far enough in advance for people to start planning accordingly, (days off or whatever). is it too soon to start guessing dates? i think having a date would be easier for you to get quotes.

It does not seem fair that i go. Mainly because i have ____ed off so many people and or offended them at the same time. its up to you guys and girls if you want me to go. I've never met you and I wouldn't want the first time is for me to run into you at a meet be awkward. I'm very blunt about when I talk and unless you know me, it could also be interpreted wrong.

Meets are for Scion members, there is no jury or judge. I can assume (cuz I know him personally, verify for me David) that he would want everyone to go that would feel comfortable going and intentions are just to talk about cars and have fun.

Jeff, its not about who is or isn't in charge, all that matters is that everybody gets along well and has a good time. I have no right to Delegate things to anybody and I dont have any authority to decide who goes to what. And Tam is absolutely right, These meetings were implemented so that people with a common interest could meet, hang out and have a good time together. Whether or not you go to our meets is entirely up to you, but remember that your actions have a huge impact on how people treat you, regardless if its in person or over the computer and the last thing I want to see is the MA members not getting along because it doesnt affect one person, it affects everyody in the group.
With work and personal matter I dont have all the time in the world to be checking ScionLife or to be gathering all the info for our ski trip but im trying my best, and all the help that I get from everybody is greatly appreciated but dont take it to offense if I dont get to back you (or to anybody else) immediately.
So lets try to make this the last mention on this matter ok everybody? and most importantly, lets keep it out of this thread. :)

i told u guys or maybe i didnt.. i ski very aggressively. I raced on ski's for 4 yers. its not as bad as you may think.. there are intermidiate runs all the way up to cliff jumping, tree skiing. its a lot better conditions a lot more powder and when u fall.. you bounce back up. its not like hard packed snow where it hurts. last year i skied mt. saint ann. but this ought to be intresting for sure. ill try and take some pictures.

Hello, I was directed to this post because I actually posted the same thing essentially lol.

Like I said in another post I made...if we go on one trip and it goes well I have a house 15 minutes from Stratton, VT. It would be awesome to have a group of people up there.

As for mountains, I would say Okemo, Mount Snow or Loon. All are fairly close..not the 4+ hours of killington. They all have a snowboard park for us boarders, a pretty good one at that, and have a bunch of windy trails for the skiiers.

wow.. okemo is kinda expensive.. $72 lift ticket and $34 snowboard rentals..

From okemo? not really sure..probably about 45 minutes. As far as lift tickets go...I thought 72 was about the going rate now...thus why i can't afford to go more than 2 or 3 times a year.. lol

So was Sunapee the other place people would like to go? I know they dont' have a park and if they do it is not very good.

I've been to Killington and Pats Peak. Killington was pretty expensive, but when I went to Pats Peak, it was only $29 for rental and lift? I don't know how the heck it was so cheap, but yeah. Looks like Sunapee would be a good place to go. I think the date we picked was Jan 27th.

Jan 27th is the set date. Im putting the deposit down tommorow and I wont be getting that money back so I kinda wanna stress that :(
They need full payment two weeks prior to our arrival (we arrive the 27th so it has to be paid by the 13th) so I'll be needing the money at least by Thursday of next week so I can deposit it and pay for the cottage.
We have 4 Confirmed with a possible +3 guests of a max 7 and a few pending for the cottage I'm reserving.

pats peak in NH has $30 lift + rental.. which is an AWESOME deal. and you ski/board from 3 - 10pm. It's pretty cool boarding at night. and we dont have to worry about getting up early to make the trip.

that's a good deal... hopefully with this lower cost.. more people will be able to go.. so i'm guessing this will be a day trip since we less time to look up lodging?? that's fine with me.

me and some of my friends go almost every weekend or everyother weekend...to Crotched Mountains. Its only 30 bucks per person group discount...but since i go every other week the whole season (which is more then 5 times)...thats why im gettin a season pass....but if anyone is interested ill letchu all know! its midnight madness...nice mountain...we usually go at around 7.... starts at 9-2am...

if you are REALLY into snowboarding...season pass is only 100 bucks!!
