This is why I would love to have the big 3 video game companies set up a system that requires you to register when you pre-order a console. Somehow use a drivers license or SSN or something to restrict it to 1 per person.

I am SOOOO up for the ps3, cannot wait to play grand turismo on HD. Also unreal looks killer for the ps3. Also going to pick up the wii for the old school games! That feature ROCKS being able to download snes / super nintendo and nintendo 64 games!

West Bend - One person was injured early this morning outside the Wal-Mart department store in West Bend when a crowd of about 50 people congregated outside the store for a chance to buy one of 10 coveted video game systems the store has for sale.

Police have provided details of the incident late this morning:

An assistant store manager announced to the crowd, which had formed about 7 a.m., that the store expected to receive only 10 of the Sony Playstation 3 game consoles, and that they would become available at 12:01 a.m. Friday.

The store official placed 10 chairs outside of the store, and directed the waiting customers to another area. At a signal, the customers were told to run to try to occupy one of the chairs. During the contest, a 19-year-old man ran into a pole and struck his head, injuring himself. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said the case was one of helping an injured person, and was not the subject of any criminal investigation.

You know you could have posted your pre-order on ebay. You don't have to wait til' you have it. Biggest jump up on bidding on my 360 was the day it was released. People can't find it anywhere, log online and lookie here, one on ebay, BID! BID!

I sold a PS2 for $700 when it first came out through ebay. As was previously said, no one is being forced to bid on ANY auction. I have no interest in playing games (get enought of that with my g/f :rofl: j/k...sorta), but that $700 went to music instruments, which I have a great deal of interest in.

dont care how good the graphics are, or how $$$ the system is or, processing speed, or frame rate, any of that ____. Game play comes before everything else. Wii is going to have the most inovative games on the market for a long time. Well, after 10 hours of waiting, and 2 stores, i didnt get one. BUT!! 3 ppl were arrested and for the 6 systems that target did have, there were bout..hmm..100+ ppl there going for it. Wanna know how thye did it? kk. Basically, u couldnt formally line up till 10pm, which is when they closed.. so every1 hung around in the parking lot. Around 8-9pm, it started getting super-packed, like a mob bout to storm target. Anywayz, around 10, they would bring out a sign to start the line, but they didnt tell us where, and whoever got there first would b first to get one. Well, they only had 6 systems, so the first 6 would get it. When it was time to run, ppl got crazy. Of course, after 8 hours, i was like, wat the hell, i'm running. Unfortunately..they tricked us. Every1 thought it would at the front door, and so i was gathered around that area. But then they put the sign next to the pharmacy, :tap: But anywayz, i got there, but not fast enuf, and got squished a bit by the folks after me. O, and every1 i asked was buying to sell, :rofl:

I can honestly say that I didn't do a lot of research into what the Wii offers, but today, I went into Target and saw it on display. It was not playable, so I just watched the video feature on it. It does seem cool. And for only $250, it's a good buy. What I didn't like was

- the games seem like they were all kiddie games

- more along the lines of a throw back than a next generation system

- kinda seems like a glorified version of PS2's Eye toy

With that said, I might pick one up just for the heck of it with that cheap price. It will hold me over till the PS3 comes back around.

Red steel looks very cool. also wii boxing is going to be alot of fun with friends. there is also a steering wheel atachment that you fit the wiimote into for driving games. since you wiimote can be used likea mouse RTS and FPS shooter games are going to just as good if not better then on a PC.

I do still play SNES games on my computer all the time. Link to the Past is one of my top 5 fav games of all time. i still play goldeneye also.

I played the PS3 at Gamestop today I was playing NBA 07 on it and I didn't see anything different in the graphics between the systems. It look like the xbox360. In my opinion NBA 2K6 look better on the xbox360. I heard "Call of duty 3"play and looks better on the xbox360 then the PS3. Gameplay counts more then graphics. I think the Wii is going to have some games with some crazy gameplay. the PS3's controllers is no where close to the Wii's controllers.
The Wii's controllers is more interactive with the games then the PS3 's controllers with their games.

PS3 does have the motion sensors on them, but as cessblood said, it won't be as in depth(not necessarily the best choice of description, but I was drinking so bear with me) with the games. The Wiimote interacts entirely with the game. The PS3 controller is used here and there(IIRC).

Still kinda find it funny that sony said they would not have motion sensors in the controller, back when it was still the boomerang looking thing. Then after Nintendo released the info, the next press release added them in. Then again, that is what every type of business is about and I think it's great. Someone makes something new, everyone else copies it and adds a little to it. Eventually it's better than it was originally imagined. That's how it should be.

not necessarily.. i know some companies in other areas are keeping major secrets from competing companies and the public to keep those companies guessing as to how far that one company is going with a new model for something... :lalala:.... so they're going to basically try to outbeat each other blindly...

yes the wii remote can even tell how hard you swing for golf and it can even sense how you bowl. I bowl with an awful curve and it also picked up on that. I also like the speaker in the controller. All I did yesterday was play the wii!!
