Well, I finally decided to find some Vent Visors for my Hot Lava XB and came across these vents on Ebay. Here is the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2485311768&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT

They arrived Saturday and I read the instructions and installed them, very, very simple and they look awesome ( Pics will be posted later this week ) - I think this is a fair deal for all 4 visors, I paid $49.95 and shipping was extra, total cost shipped by FedEx was $61.95.

These are a smoked plastic, excellent quality and the fit is perfect inside the window channel ......

Just wanted to share my find ! This seller might have more ?

Heh, cool. I just installed the same set on Sunday. I bought from the same seller and everything. I was really impressed with the quality and fit for the price. I was a bit worried considering the difference in cost between these, the jdm version, and others, but my concerns were totally unfounded.

LOL - Get em' installed .......

Here is a trick ~ if by chance you get some fine scratches in them, you can use that McGuires Paint Cleaner, put a small dab on a soft cloth and rub it in, then wipe it dry and the scratches are gone ...

Will have some pics posted later this week, the wife has my camera in NY ....

I have those and I don't like them at all. It is in channel on the front and rear but on the rear a part of it is not in channel and it still uses double sided tape even though it is in channel.

Your right about hte sticky 3m tape ... Install was easy, just wiped the inside of the window channels with the cleaner, allow to dry and then peel the tape and insert ... Both of my backs are in the channel and the fronts are in the channel as well - I hated to spend over $100 for these, to me the quality is nice and they look good, pics to come ....

They are made my WADE !

Are they easy to remove for when you want to clean the windows? Are they prebent or do you have to bend them for fitment? Post the pics of them on your Box!! :P

I had a set on my Dodge Dakota for the last two years, loved-em in the sun and the rain.

ATTN:Make sure you keep your windows clean, I noticed scratches on the very top of my windows and on the vent visors after a few months.

I just orderd the set on E-bay and it was advertised as all inchannel, I bought this set because another set was $94 for all four. If it uses stickey then I will be looking for a full refund! Thanks for the heads up, wish I had seen this post first.

***UPDATE****

I just got and installed them, the stickey tape was actually to keep them on the outside edge of the channel, instead of just being press fit in every time you roll up your windows. I like the idea better than the Vent Visors I had before, they look identical as great looking ones in the pics further down. Except they look better on my TCM! <grin>

Another recomendation for the Wade Product sold on Ebay!

Any of you guys running these with tinted windows? Is there any wind noise at highway speeds with the visors (with windows all the way up)?

Thanks for the info / pics. What about wind noise at highway speeds? Do they vibrate at all? I drive 80% highway to work which is why I ask.

PS <> I already have a lot of wind noise when driving on the highway.

I don't feel that they work real good. The rain that runs off the roof comes staight down and over the vent and runs right into the window opening. They don't quite stick out far enough.

Just put mine on and am pretty happy with them. One word of caution if you get the wade ones the backs look the same but are slightly different ie. slight curve. Just put the wade symbols toward the back of the box and make sure to leave them up for the full 72 hours. If you need more help the guy at wade i talked to is Mike Ori. He is like head of production or design dont remember . TEL# 801-355-0972

there might be a problem with yours...I have never had a problem with mine and I have driven in plenty of rain with the windows part way down.

Wind noise: there is a little, but it is not that loud...not louder than it already is...IMO

I have the Wade ones and they work great. The fronts go all the way down to the bottom of the side mirrors and flare out. Keeps evey drop out while I have the windows opened. I've seen some out there for over 100.00 and these were 50 something and they work great. The hard part was leaving the windows up for 72 hours after installation. Tough to do in the summer heat and Parkway tolls

The VentVisors for the xB have a fitment problem on the front doors. Do a search for more info. I bought a set off Ebay - $35.00 with shipping. Anyone in the Connecticut area want them for $30.00? Never used!!!!

Rain pours in as it runs off visor.

I just got my "wade" window visors for my xB.
I only paid $50 total, but I am disapointed in the quality.

The fit is OK, but you can see a little of the adhesive tape and the gaps around the rubber. They also cause the rear windows to bind a little.

They look nice though.

*UPDATE*
They have been on for over 6 months and still work great!

Does anyone have these that go back to the 3rd pane of glass? Even though it's not functional, it would make this look 100% better as it looks quirky with that last section of the passenger window not having the visor over it. It looks like a piece fell off.

rallyxb

They are " in channel" and held in place by 3M tape.
I guess I need to trim the excess tape.
:?

As for the back 1/4 of the rear window... it's a cool idea, but I have not seen a kit like that.

It still looks good though... More importantly, it works!

rally It definitely looks better on the darker colors like yours, but still I'd pay an extra $15 -20 just for the rear 1/4 pane portion.

I sprayed my XB interior with Scotch Guard. It has been a few days and I still can't get rid of the smell. Any help with that issue would be appreciated. The big question is an outgrowth of my effort to get rid of the smell. I rode around with my back windows open- for a minute. The air vibrations were actually painful. I found out I can't really drive with the windows open in an XB and feel comfortable or hear anything. So, my question is - would window vent visors fix this problem? Which ones are the best? would visors actually increase wind noise? I do not want to add more wind noise to my drive.
I put on a bug deflector and I do not like the increased wind noise on the windshield.

I bought some off of eBay after reading posts about them here. Unfortunately I got the Vent Shade brand. What a piece of junk these things are. They don't fit correctly the curves were off on the passenger side front window. The backs go into the channel on the front section but go over the window pillar on the back part. Then to make matters worse when you roll up the windows on the backs they catch on the visor and don't finish rolling up unless you pull it out while closing it.
I won't ever buy the Vent Shade brand again for anything I own because I just found out the other day that the passenger side blew off on my wife's van.
Now I guess I'll wait to have mine blow off and then get me some Wades!

the part about the vibration noise is normal. its air turbulance from the car and the window being open. from my experence all 4-door cars do that. the solution IMO is to open the front and rear window

I bougth a set off the Bay. They are junk the don't fit the front windows. I called Ventvisor and they said there was a quality issue with them and they would send the new design when it comes out. They sent me the same pair again and they still don't fit. Don't buy them!!! They will not fit. I'm going to try the Wade ones instead.

I just got a close look at the Wade's last night on another XB and they are sweet!

I would like to get a set myself, but was unable to locate anyone currently selling them for the XB on E-Bay (I haven't tried a general online search yet since you can usually get a better price on E-Bay.)

Does anyone remember the name of the seller that you bought yours from? Again I would like the Wade brand, not Ventvisor, saw plenty of that.

Thanks!

I can't find my receipt from two years ago to give you the same vendor but a quick search revealed this: http://www.buyautotruckaccessories.com/product.cfm/cf-bin/pn.wade-in-channel-wind-deflector/

and they're still cheap. Mine are in perfect shape after 2 hot summers and 2 winters. Plus due to being on crutches recently, I've had no choice but to take it through the car wash and I was pleased to find out they're not affected at all by it. After installing them I only hand washed the car.

You have to keep your windows up for 7 days after installing them so that they seat correctly into the window trim. So I'd advise you to get them instlled before the really hot weather hits.

I've had to twice use some glue to reattach the visors. The supplied tape hold for only so long. But since they're mounted insode the window frame the only issue is that when they get loose they rattle a little with the windows down. A little glue and you're all fixed.

I've been happy with them. I like being able to keep the window partially open when iit's raining out.

Good luck

After reading this thread I ended up buying the Wade brand off of ebay.Although the shipping was terrible(took 17 days)the product worked great.Easy install etc.I do think the fit is a bit tight on the back windows tho'The fronts fit with NO binding at all.

Recently installed the Wade units from an ebay vendor, alecstruckdepot. Smooth transaction, reasonable delivery time, and they fit and seem to work fine...

There weren't any instrutions in the factory box, so I cleaned the channels with alcohol swabs, installed the fronts, left the windows rolled up for 24 hours, then did the same with the rears.

It's nice to be able to leave the windows down an inch when the box is parked in the secured company lot all day- just because it looks like a toaster doesn't mean it has to be as hot as one, and now I don't have to deal with sudden thunderstorm issues, either...
