hey guys/gals...WOW...long time no post...how you doin?

question: let me know your opinions...my wheels have many encounters with the sidewalks...soo i was thinkin about sanding off the paint...they are gunmetal...and i was thinkin about sanding them down only to the metal...and not repainting them...what do you think? how is it done? would it be expenseive? can i do it? or would i need someone else to do it for me...like pay someone...?? would it look good? what do you think?

thanks...

If done carefully, it should be ok. Sanding down to metal completely will be tough - because wheels are rather curvy. So sand down the scratches, buff them out so they look even and then paint the whole wheel whatever color you want. It is anot a 2-hour project, but it's cheaper than buying new wheels.

My buddy bought a set of 18" Giovanna Kyoto's for $300 because they had bad curb rash. He fixed them and now he's sporting a set of $2000 wheels that he only spent about $310 on and 2 days of work.

what you want to do is use aircraft paint remover. this ____ is no joke. itll take the paint off in no time flat. then you want to polish them. this process is a pain in the dyck. check out some motorcycle forum and you will def find info on polishing. its gonna take you forever, espeacially doing 4 wheels. and after all said and done there gonna look like chrome, but youll have to repolish them about 1 a month if you want them to lookgood.

Or simply paint them!
