Hey guys, we have been working on a new kit that will allow for a larger turbo (for those of you looking for up to 320hp). The kit will use a hybrid set up, will not have a remote turbo set up and will reach full boost just under 3100rpm. Just wanted to throw the info out there for those of you who dont want to mount their turbo under the car. We expect prototypes to be completed late Jan, early Feb.

Happy Birthday Eloy, you old man you.. :)

Got more details there buddy.. This is not a bigger turbo that you put on the Greddy kit is it? It is a whole new kit... Will it come with FMIC, injectors, external wastgate and ECU managment?

I'm interested.

Dude... Eloy! You've been holdin' out on me! So when can I check out this prototype of yours? Is it on your car? Any thoughts on cost? And I won't even ask the CARB question.

Might just have to plan a trip down their sooner rather than later. My brother is even talking about taking his car down to have you guys put it on the dyno for some base runs. He's set on NA by the way. Too much work to swap out the 12:1 pistons. No, this isn't on a Scion guys. :)

Oh come on Dustin.. this is one of your favorite questions thou.. :P

Im really interested in details.. I know what a smart guy Eloy is and can only imagine that he has come up with some great things.

OK... fine...

So Eloy...

Will the Race Precision 320 hp T28 Hybrid Turbo Kit be CARB legal? I mean... I see no reason why it couldn't be. Only more than tripling the power of the already notoriously quick 1NZ-FE. Besides, didn't your old shop used to do stuff involving CARB certification?

Seriously though. What's the deal? How much can you tell us? What parts are you guys sourcing from other companies, and what will be RP originals? Oh and what sort of hybrid are you doing? Like a T28/T04 or T28/T3?

I'm anxious to see what you guys come up with.

Been a member over there ever since Eloy changed shops. Trust me, it doesn't make you privy to much. :)

I think I am just going to have to plan another trip down to LA so I can see what they have cooking.

For now I am off to go install that Magnaflow exhaust on the wife's car.

Just some little info for you guys. We arent working on the xB so we can race supercharged TCs or Mustangs. You can see by what kind of cars we have at our shop, what our expectations are for the xB. Its got to hang with the rest of our cars.

Scion xb, 06 Sky, 05 Noble M12, 03 911 turbo, 05 Elise turbo.

If you look under the xb, the motor is out... In goes the pistons, rods, rings, headgasket and valvetrain.... :P

Nice shot of the new shop Eloy. Where is the dyno though? I thought you guys had a dyno?

And I figured you would be going with a full build on the motor once I saw your original post on the thread. So how long until the world's fastest xB hits the streets? Looks like we might start having an East/West rivalry that could benefit the entire Scion community. :)

Seriously though, will any remnants of the old Greddy kit remain? Or are you starting all over from scratch? Are you moving over to a Haltech stand alone?

Man... I seriously need to plan another trip down to LA.

I have a hook on Haltech if you guys need some help there. I am working with Matt on a PNP version for the TC.

Ah! So wait, is this a production kit or not? if so why the upped internals, wouldnt we wanna see wat kinda results we would get on a stock motor. also i realize why YOU are doing this.

i would think that this is a production kit correct me if im wrong...and as for the upped internals it is because he has a goal of 300+hp so it would be best to start off that way.......boost as much as you can till something breaks, find out what broke, upgrade the broken part, and repeat......correct me if im wrong on this as well

Ive never blown a motor and this is why. I take the precautions. The stock 1.5L will not handle 300% volumetric efficiency guys. It doesnt matter how much fuel you give it. Its not only about the fuel or tuning. The motor simply cant take the pressure. Sure, I can make a kit and dyno it at 200whp at the motor but what does that do for us as a business? We might sell some kits but when people blow their motors, it comes back to bite us. You can use the kit we are working on, on the stock motor, you'll just have to run lower boost. :P

^^^^YES!!!! but just how much boost and is da price range in the same range as the Greddy turbo kit? props to you Eloy

Ok, like i said, I know why YOU are going internals but this means that you are just trying to show us wat your kit can do, we wanna know wat WE can do with your kit is my point.

I think it is WAY to early for Eloy to make those kinds of predictions. They are obviously in the early stages of development of the initial prototype.

I am sure once he gets the kit built, tuned, dynoed, and beat on, he'll be able to give us an estimate on pricing, hp, etc. I am also sure when they have a kit available to the public it will be sold to perform at reasonable boost levels for stock components and make more power then the Greddy kit. I don't think they would waste their time otherwise.

Then again, I am just some random guy on an internet forum speculating what another guy I hardly know and his shop's plans may be. So take what I post as you will.

why do you love the greddy setup soo much? because it was the first released maybe?

I never asked ROLLHARD for dyno numbers or even what psi we would run it. I asked for a real world test AKA a stock motor. When he releases a dyno of HIS car, then he will just be showing wat HIS kit can do. No better than another "company" out there with unreleased dyno numbers but i dont hear the same B.S. here as i do over there.

So Rollhard, what are you gonna do with your Greddy Intercooler Kit? Hit me up if you wanna sell it.

I wish you luck on your production kit. I know that when you say it's available for sale...it'll actually be AVAILABLE FOR SALE :lalala:
You've shared enough of your experience(s) to earn my trust. If I had known earlier that you were coming out with a kit, I would have held off on getting a Greddy kit.

There is a big difference between what Eloy and Race Precision has done with this thread and what ZPI has been consistent in doing with all of their products.

And Fusion... I know you don't like what I have to say in this forum, and that is fine. And there is nothing about the Greddy kit that makes me like it. Right now, it is the most reliable, widley available kit out there. It might not be making huge horse power numbers right now, but it is actually available and as close to worry free as you can get when it comes to a turbo system.

When ZPI reaches the same point with their kit, I'll preach their virtue as well. For now though, they have two pre-production kits sold, and the kit isn't shipping yet. But I do understand your need to back ZPI. Heck I'd be doing the same thing if someone hooked me up like that.

And for metal...

Race Precision is in the very early stages of development. They don't even have the prototype on their own car yet. I can garauntee you though, once they have the prototype finished on Eloy's built motor, they'll be looking for a stock xB. And they won't be out trying to sell a kit they don't even have developed yet. It will be up for sell when they are ready to ship.
