Default Need to make room. Replacing subs. What are they worth?

I need to gain back some cargo space. I would like to get an enclosure that fits into the spot next to my spare. Before I get something to do so. I need to get rid of my current subs.

This is what I have now.

The amp is a MTX 4122.

What should I be asking for these?

One other question. Can I get a single sub that will sound better, hit better, and fit into the enclosure I want?

I am no sub-conosiuer (sp?), but I have the Infinity BassLink which is a 10" sub with a built in amp and I think it sounds pretty damn good, and takes up very little space, and I do mean very little. It only takes up about half of the width of the spare tire cover....

Is that on the same lines as the bass tube you get from scion? I'd rather clean up the whole area and not have anything on top. If I can't get the same amount of sound out of what I want. I'll have to look into that type of setup. Thanks for the suggestion.

I would guess maybe $100.00 - $150.00 for it all!

Hopefully soon the good people at Elemental Designs will come out with something like they have for the TC. Try their website at www.elementaldesigns.com Chris who goes by Mandos here on SL works for them, they are also a sponser here as well and give SL members discounts. Check them out!

Yeah I hope they do come out with that!
I was thinking that price range would be fair.
Thanks jallamas

Well I know the BassLink retails at Best Buy for $300 which once again is the amp and sub if that helps any.

You can always try Audioformz's custom box. Looks great and can come painted in your stock color... Dunno about pricing, but you can check it out:Audioformz

What would be more efficient? I'm not looking for something that will annihilate what I have now. Just something comparable.

when reading the specs you look for a higher sensitivity number.
ok here the expalanation
going from a sub that may put out 85 db@1w 1m to one that puts out lets say 88db@ 1w 1m it would play as loud as the first speaker with half the power to it. This is because to raise your output 3db you need to double power
so going to a super effecient speaker enables you to run less cone area and still get it to play loud. to really kill it with one driver you would need to go more exotic and give up some space

one 12" Kicker L7 would kill what you have BUT your enclosure would need to be bigger and also ported enclosures are more effecient

Are you assuming that the two 12" I have now are running too there full poteintal? The amp that is on there is to small. I know that for sure. Not sure if you can tell from the pics or not? I'm assuming you can. Reason being is that my sister has one 10" in her car and it sounds alot better then mine. I'm pretty sure its a JL and the box isn't that big either.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm trying to get out of my high school throw some subs in any sort of box to make it bump phase

I would say something along the lines of an 11Ov.2 and a Nine.2x amp from Elemental designs would give you what you're looking for...

the 11Ov.2 is $120 with SL Discount and the Nine.2x is $225 with the discount... get a D2 sub and run it at 4ohm bridged on the amp...
