You folks are pretty good at staying between the lines for people who bought such a different car. 350Lbs for the bike and a trailer that will likely be less than 500Lbs does not mean you are going to fly off the road instantly. Towing a trailer can increase your braking distance by 100% or more easily. If you have never pulled a trailer I'd start off light, (pull lighter loads a bit to get a feel for it, you will have to modify your driving habits significantly) but I believe the echo is rated for 2000Lbs trailer weight. And before it comes up, GVWR is not the number to look too for towing capacity - but could give you an idea of a limit you'd certainly be safe at. Towing capacity is always significantly higher than GVWR. As far as the short wheel-base, I towed quite a few trailers with my Broncos and it was great: I never had any problems underway - and was fantastically maneuverable backing and forward. Actually, it would have been possible to damage the truck with the trailer by turning to sharply and I wonder if this might be one reason why they suggest against pulling a trailer.
