luckly i think it's your intake that's smashed (not header, in the back of the engine), and you are ok. Better alot of damaget ot the the car than a lot of damage to you.

I almost crashed into two deer last weekend...lucky for me I was doing 55 and had my high beams on. I slammed my brakes and speed dropped to 30 so I swerved in the middle of the two way highway away from them. Everyone walked away okay. They say to sound your horn...but that Friday, a deer wanted to cross another highway as I was coming. I had the music blast all the way up and had my headlights on even if it was 4:20-ish. She hopped back into the farm fields where she came from. Maybe she heard my music coming

You can get deer horns when you go through deer areas. They're ultrasonic so you can have it on all the time and not be annoyed. Good for going hunting without them ambush your ****

glad you're okay but sucks about your car. made the right choice by hitting the deer over the guard rail. recently there was a story about a guy who made the other choice and wound up going right off the bridge....

you'll be back on the road soon!

Ow!! I hit a dog going 75mph, he went under and took out the radiator and AC condenser etc... total cost $3780 and 2 weeks in a Cobolt rental . The dog was almost across the road and I was driving around to pass behind it but of course the dog got spooked and RAN back the other way rite in front of my poor xA. I really appreciate my xA since I got it back. Glad your not hurt but I feel your pain, all will be good in no time.... ;)

tcs are bad with deer, especially since they have the glass roof, we replaced the entire driver's side, hood, deck lid, windshield and roof on one that hit a deer, the head of the deer actually went through the windshield

still havent heard back form my insurance ajuster, but i think the car might be totalled. The inside metal fender fame thing is all crumbled, they would have to chopped it off and try to weld another piece, and im not sure if its even legal to weld part of the frame back together. does anyone know if insurance compnaies will give you a rental? im driving a '92 dodge dynasty for now, and it sucks something awful.

its not illegal to weld in a new frame rail, its actually really common to weld in a new one, just depends on how your insurance company sees it, it takes 75% of the value of the vehicle to total it so an xa is about 9500 new, an xb is 10k

ouch! if I hit anything out here it will be another car. For some reason people like switching lanes at a red light when a car already in that lane is about to pass by. It's like, "me first me me me!" hate it

I hope the xA is totaled for your sake. It will probably never drive the same. Goodluck.

another good argument to declare open season on all wild quadropeds!
think about it, our roads would be safer, and we could solve world hunger with the surplus meat!

Sorry to hear about your accident. I've seen more dead deer on the roadsides this year than ever. I drive 35 miles on my commute, one way, and it's almost a daily occurrence to see a fresh dead deer.
