I am ordering a elemental designs box, and I want to mount the amp somewhere that isn't too intrusive. Also, the car only has 540 miles on it so I am trying to avoid any cutting, or slicing the fabric to sneak wires... its not a 93 Honda Civic  :P

So, show me some pics of some nice cleanly mounted amps!

behind one of the rear side panels will do...forward of the rear wheel well there is plenty of room.

Are those panels a pain to take off and replace?

you need to worry about the heat in one of those panels, you want it where the amp can breath and stay cool

I understand, but its not going to be pushed much, while it may get wamr, im not going to push it to its limits and have it get hot to the touch.

it doesn't matter, your best bet would be to build a rack that would mount behind the seats, if you wanted to get creative the back of the back seats just pops off with some christmas tree clips, you could build your rack, hide the amp in there and run the wires down the bottom and through the bottom of the back, just mount a little 12 volt pc type fan in the back of the seat and when your running it, leave a few of the clips out of it

im not too sure which box you are getting.. but you can cut the foam part in the cubby hole on the right side to fit your amp then add a fan to get air cirulating. if not that i agree with the mount it behind the seats idea, just to keep it clean. and if you have access to a fish tool, you can skip the worry of taking the rear area apart. thats what i did and it was alot easier :)

you'll still wanna take the seal plastic and kick panel out, I intend to mount mine in the back, and I'm thinking about mounting the sub amp in the back of the seat, but I can't mount the five channel anywhere descrete, once I get it, because its 2' by 1' by 3"

mines under the drivers seat in my box, I'm not running but about 250 watts to two tens, but I had it cranked up decently last night and it was actually bouncing my suspension really good, I kept shutting the stereo off to see if someone was screwing with me

First - find out what kind of heat that amp throws while on for a few hours. Thats going to help you w/ your decision. Some amps get hot while others barely get warm. It all depends on the quality of the amp and how long its on for. Second - you can drill the amp to the box w/ short screws. That prob will be the easiest way. You only need very short screws to hold an amp in.

my jl has been behind the rear panel for a year, no problems. don't know what you guys are talking about with 'fans'.
there is plenty of space in there and ventilation.

its in the cubby hole area. and i currently have an audiobahn which runs fairly hot.. thats why i needed a fan. its also a safety issue too to make sure the thing doesnt always go into thermal protection mode.

ok well. maybe the jl audio just doesnt run as hot. i have never gone into a thermal protection mode.
when you say 'cubby hole', do you mean the styro foam storage area to the right of the spare tire? everytime you say cubby, i think of the little space in front of the gear shift and i think, "man, that is one TINY amp you have. i need to get one of those!"

the ed amp will be fine behind a rear panel. Mandos says its ok and considering he works with ed i think it will be fine. if not just return it. you do have a 3 year warentee
