This is weird. Sometimes i look at my car and it looks all sleek and bad ___. Then other times, I look and it looks all tiny and not very sporty. I think it's like my eyes just playing a trick cuz i went to go look again just now and it looks alright lol.

Maybe the sun was hittin the car in the wrong way lol

Yea I know what you mean. When I look at my car parked in a garage, whether at home or on campus, it looks great/sleek/etc.

But then, there are times where I'll park on the street, and go across the street... then I'll see my tC just sitting there. I mean yea, its stock height... but still. It suddenly seems so short, small, and very awkward looking.

Then I get closer to it and its all ok again. Sometimes I wonder if people perpetually think tCs are actually whimpy looking!

i've noticed it when i park in tight places.

when it's in the open, it's gorgeous. if im in the house garage or something tight, it looks weird.

i guess its just because i cant see the entire car?

if I'm looking from the front at a 60 degree angle, it looks great to me. If I'm looking from the back.... it's a bit more ordinary. But overall, the looks are good......... then I step on the gas and I know it's an ordinary car.

i feel that all the time.. like i will take pics or just simply look at it and i get upset at how the car looks, but then there are times when the car looks sooo sexy.

since i have had this new blue tC i have hated how it looked for a very long time.. i still hate how it looks, i just need to start modding it so i can appreciate the car's looks.

i just think stock is ugly

Then why did you buy it? Not just one, but two tCs. I'd never buy a new car that I thought was ugly.

The tC has a very pure, simple styling that I really like a lot. It fits my style. But I agree, more than just about any other car the tC goes from realy sleek/sexy looking to kinda "plump" just depending on the angle/lighting/whatever. It really is a big car for the type of car it is.

ooo no no no, i loved how my last tC looked, i loved it!!

i just hate how the tC looks at stock height, it really looks bad imho, once you lower it a little it looks better.. thats all that i gripe about really, its only that being so high it throws off all the lines of hte car. im sure once i get to work on this tC it will start to look better.. im jsut saving my money so i can buy coilovers and rims at the same time.

I understand what you're saying. The weird thing for me is how my car looks with springs now. Sometimes it looks absolutely perfect, sometimes it's way too low looking, and sometimes it doesn't seem low enough. I love to look at my own car, as conceited as that sounds, but in honesty I don't really get the chance. Considering my color, my car looks awesome in the shade even if it is a little dirty.

How about this- how does your perception of your own car change when you change something of the exterior? Does it still feel like the same old car?

I think y'all should put the pipe down
Just kidding....My personal opinion is that the Scion rear lip spoiler really sets the tC off. Try putting one of those on. Nice wheels, by the way.

same thing happens to me. But if I turn the wheel a little bit outward, and take a look from the front side, it looks better.

you are right and it's kind of funny but i think everyone does that once they have gotten over the fact that the car is new. If your into making your car standout, you can't help but see something diffferent because your car doesn't match the picture of it in your head. I love my ride and I have to say I do check it out for some strange reason. Once you tint the windows it brings the car together a little more. I'm stock but most of my club members are not so I see both sides. Lowered with clean wheels yeah thats great but I keep my ride clean as much as I can and when you have people you dont' even know telling you your stock ride is tight then it must be a scion sickness or something.

More than any other car I've considered, the tC looks very different depending on what angle you look at it. My theory is that angles/photos that emphasize the smallness of the wheels/tires compared to the rest of the car are less attractive. Three quarter angles seem to be best. But, there are lots of spots on the car that look very nice in close-up photos (the hump on the rear hatch is my favorite). This is one of the good angles.

yea, I think in our heads our tCs look like this:

See? I mean, sometimes it sort of looks like that, but if you look at it from the wrong angle, then it gets thrown off. I think Buford's right... angles that emphasize the smaller wheels or "short" back end ten to kind of screw up the image.
