you know that racing where they race cars that look like regular cars like newer hondas, acuras, bmw, porshe, and cadillacs? what type of racing is that, they race on road courses.

^^ditto, the SCCA can get you to that level. I also believe they call it Touring Car racing.

GT class cars in one of a few different series.

My uncle has a daytona prototype and races in the GrandAm series. Some GT1 cars are in there as well.

Me in the car, about to drive it up to the alignment rack

Our neighbors, a BMW Z4

And the red arrows are safety requirements. They're used every race anyway to pull the cars into the trailers (the trailers have winches) and there's very little room to open the doors.... . so either they climb out the window after winching or walk on the side of the car manipulating the wheel while it's getting pulled in.

Glad you're curious. This is known generall as "sedan" or "production car" road racing. What you are looking at specifically are World Challenge cars. In the foreground is a GT class CTS, and in the background is a TC class TSX.
